There is every reason for Lakunle to be at the top of your mind when you cast your vote.
He is a candidate whose dedication, competence, and commitment to service speak for themselves. This vibrant man we are talking about in this great institution, has maintained a record of integrity and responsible leadership. Anyone who has interacted with him can attest to his passion, courage, and readiness to serve.
At a time when students have consistently demanded bold, fearless, and accountable leadership, we cannot afford to settle for less. We deserve a Secretary-General who will represent our voices with confidence, stand firm for students’ interests, and lead with purpose.
This election is an opportunity to choose courage over complacency, service over promises, and leadership over timidity.
We deserve better. We deserve courage. We deserve LAKUNLE.
🗳️ VOTE LAKUNLE FOR SECRETARY-GENERAL, GREAT IFE STUDENTS’ UNION.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This one happened a month ago.
It's something I would still like to share.
Exercise is Medicine On-campus University of Ibadan was featured in the newsletter and blog of the American College of Sports Medicine. Being the President was a very fulfilling experience.
Here's the link to the article:
acsm.org/building-exercise-i…
And I took a few screenshots of some aspects that can give insights to what Exercise is Medicine is about and the framework in place. Huge appreciation to everyone involved in the process; at the EIM Nigeria and Global stage.
Over the past week, I have had the opportunity to follow the Great Ife Students' Union elections closely, and I must say, it has been quite an experience. It's my first time following it this closely, and in many ways, it has reminded me why student leadership remains such a powerful platform for service.
More than anything, though, it has made me incredibly proud of my younger brother, Lakunle.
We come from a very small place, but we have always dared to dream beyond our circumstances. More importantly, we were raised to believe that wherever life takes us, we should leave that place better than we met it. Perhaps the full story will be shared another day, but somehow, that simple lesson shaped us into not just a family of Physiotherapists, but even more, a family of volunteers.❤️
From our mother, who serves as the Chairman of the Oyo State Physiotherapy Association, an elected position, to my eldest sister, who served as Vice-President and Acting President of the UCH Students' Association, as well as Editor-in-Chief of the Press and PhysioRay, to my second sister, who served as the Assistant General Secretary of the Association of Physiotherapy Students, to myself, privileged to have served as President in two associations, Vice-President in three organisations, and in several other capacities, service has never been something we just did for the sake of doing.
And then there is Lakunle. The youngest of us all.
A selfless brother who chose an even bolder path because he genuinely believes things can be better. Very very Energetic.❤️😂Someone willing to stand up, to be counted, and to work for the change he believes in.
I couldn't be more proud of him.
I still remember when Lakunle first told me, perhaps in Part I or Part II, a few years ago, that he wanted to run someday. I told him something I still believe today: politics may be done to win elections, but it is lived long before elections ever come. It is found in every assignment you are given as a member of a committee, every responsibility you accept and every opportunity to serve. It is doing everything you have been entrusted with at 200%, giving people every reason to believe that when the time comes, you will serve them well.
Looking at him today, I truly believe he has done his due diligence (didn't know he had all these doings)
I cannot speak for every candidate, but I choose to believe they have also given so much of themselves to be here. That alone deserves respect. It takes courage to put yourself before people and offer yourself for service.
I also want to appreciate the Great Ife Students' Union for the standard it has always seems to uphold.
To everyone who has supported Lakunle throughout this journey, thank you. Thank you for believing in him, encouraging him, and walking this journey with him.
And to you, Lakunle... Thank you for every space you have served in with excellence. Thank you for protecting your name with integrity. Thank you for representing Great Ife so well on the national Physiotherapy stage (another story for another day).
I have always been proud to call you my brother. This election process has only made me prouder.
As elections always go, I hope everyone makes the right choice (in the spirit of canvassing). Honestly, there are usually hardly any wrong choices, perhaps only the "righter" ones.
For me, and for many others I know, that choice is simple.
It is ASCEND with Lakunle. Always. The best man for the job.
Proud of you. Today, tomorrow, and long after the ballots have been counted.

Funny how it's the smart ones that sleep in exam hall, when some others are mass-producing body water. Lol.

Young Physios and students should join @dai_initiative
When are we going to move beyond conversations and start demanding the full implementation of the Nigerian Disability Act?
Basic accessibility is still missing. Many public buildings remain inaccessible (including banks, hospitals, government secretariat). Disability-friendly toilets are rare. Safe walkways and ramps are often nonexistent. Not to talk of transport 🙃
These aren’t luxuries fgs!!
disability can happen to anyone. It only takes one accident, illness, or unexpected event for someone’s life to change forever.
I started @dai_initiative 5 years ago to play my part. At DAI, we’re working to build a more inclusive future by teaching children and teenagers about disability, inclusion, and breaking down stigma from an early age.
We can’t do it alone. If you work in a primary or secondary school, volunteer with young people, or simply care about improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities in Nigeria, we’d love to have you join us. If you’d like to sponsor a visit to a school, please send a DM 🙏
