Domain registration in the Cloudflare dashboard is now rolled out to everyone!
Visually a huge improvement, but architecturally and performance wise it is remarkablyyyy quick.
Buy a $1 .dev domain when you have the $5 Workers plans is also a huge W (renews at regular price). CF Registrar team has been making big waves recently.

Fingerprinting is a way that websites can identify you without cookies.
Sites will note details about your device like your screen size or installed fonts. These details are then combined into a unique, persistent "fingerprint" that can be used to track you across the Web.

Telegram has applied for the .gram domain zone.
If the application is approved by ICANN, a billion Telegram users could get their own second-level domains — yourname.gram.
Users would be able to set up their interactive websites hosted by Telegram — with one prompt ✨

one thing i've gotten really good at is taking a rejection.
thousands of job applications, rejected ( i literally searched for `unfortunately` on gmail)
so many companies where i didn't meet the criteria, rejected
hundreds of app store submissions, rejected (hurts the most)
more upwork proposals than i can count, rejected
at some point it just stopped hurting
now every time i put my time and effort into something, i go in with zero expectations. i do the work, i ship it, i let go
nothing can touch you once you stop needing a yes

takumi-pdf 0.4
Generates PDF files from JSX + Tailwind. No Chromium, a WASM engine writes the bytes directly.
Output is PDF/A compliant now, the kind that holds up for EU e-invoices, legal archives and accessibility audits.
And CSS features like shadow, clip-path, outline, mask are now implemented.

I’ve started building Machinen Desktop: a spatial desktop for persistent terminal windows. Every terminal is backed by a multiplexer, so sessions never die; and friends can join those same sessions to collaborate and share compute!
The entire app is controllable through a TypeScript API over HTTP. Your agent can create and arrange windows, run commands, and manage the workspace while you observe.
It’s also fully pluggable through TypeScript. Plugins can add status-bar widgets, handle events, define context menus, and more... so each workspace can be tailored to its own needs.
Follow along here: github.com/redwoodjs/machine…
I use it daily, but it has some rough edges.
I've finally figured out where I want to take machinen.dev... If you click on that link ignore the current marketing.

We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5.
We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon.
We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.

My goal with MachinenVM was to learn to build a microvm. I understand maybe 33% of what it's doing, but my goal has always been to understand the machine from first principles: Did LinuxFromScratch.org as a teenager, and Nand2Tetris (Cum laude).
Let me be upfront, I believe you can just do things. Don't let other people gate-keep anything from you.

Small update on machinen-vm: the interface is amazing, you'll love it, but it's not beta ready, so you'll hate it. I'm fixing the most annoying things - and going fast - but I refuse to throw slop at you.

If you were a coder between 2000 - 2010, you didn't just have a job: you had a mission. Back then, there was no Twitter or Discord. If you wanted to find "your people," you joined the world of Open Source.
It felt like a war. On one side was Microsoft, the giant company that owned everything. On the other side were "regular" coders trying to build free tools that anyone could use. It was David vs. Goliath.
To be part of the group, you had to have a "hacker" mindset. This didn't mean breaking into banks; it meant you wanted to break the rules of how big companies controlled technology!
The goal wasn't to get rich or get bought by a bigger company. It was about freedom. We wanted to prove that a group of volunteers could build better things than a billion-dollar company.
By 2010, the "war" changed. Big companies started using free code too. But for that one decade, being a developer felt like being part of a secret rebellion. It was "punk rock" for nerds.
Today, we take free apps and open code for granted. But back then, every line of code was a fight for a more open internet. If you were there, you weren't just a coder... You were a rebel.
We're in a new fight now. It's the same game.

One of the things I think about is that there are people that like to solve problems and there are people that want problems solved.... So there's a market and a marketplace. That has never changed!
It's just that developers were so busy solving their own problems (which they created) that they didn't need to know that there was a world out there that also needed problems solved.
I do think software can be helpful. I'm here for that.
