Why do we trust imported products more than local ones, and what would it take to change that?

For me, design was always about the end result not the process... If I can skip figma or any other tool, I will do it. The only reason it's hard is that only a few tools allow you the same freedom that you have on figma. I hate no having full creative control
Designers spent decades wishing they could turn their Figma files into real, working products. Now that we finally can, half of us can't even be bothered to open Figma. The ability to build isn't an excuse to stop designing. If anything, it's a reason to care about design more than ever.

Reading this is funny because I just shipped a personal app I've been working on... Even my prompts averages around 20mins and 1 prompt doesn't mean one feature... Let's not even talk about debugging or architecture
Just a few years ago, management could comfortably wait out a two-week sprint to get a feature shipped. Today, there’s growing impatience when a feature takes more than 24 hours to deliver. 🥲 The pressure on software engineers right now is crazy, and I don’t think we’re talking about it enough. I can barely get two sentences into explaining my implementation plan before someone interrupts with: “Just give it to Claude to do!” “Sir, we need to think about…” “That’s what Claude is there for. Let it do the heavy lifting!” A task gets assigned, and barely 10 minutes later: “Why is it taking so long? Aren’t you using Claude properly? This should take a minute or two!” Somehow, the existence of AI has created this assumption that software engineering is now just a matter of writing a prompt and watching features magically appear. Nobody wants to hear about architecture, edge cases, testing, security, or the implications of a poorly thought-out implementation. Just ship it. And ship it NOW. AI has become both a blessing and a curse. Something I genuinely expected to reduce my workload has instead increased it. The productivity gains are real, but so are the expectations that come with them. We’ve made development faster, but somehow, we’ve also made every delivery feel slower. And that’s the irony nobody seems to be talking about. Omo mehn, I’m just exhausted, might as well just resign, but it seems it’s the same everywhere😪

If it's not useful, it's a waste
Designers, what's a hill you're willing to die on? A design opinion you'll defend even if every other designer disagrees with you. Let's hear it. 😂

A lot of people want to see you fail to justify the risks they chose not to take. Remove them from your life, ruthlessly.

Sometimes AI makes me laugh.... Just to correct a code you wrote in 3mins you are using 22mins? Why?

Am I the only person yet to use Claude for any agentic workflows? Everywhere I go, it seems I'm missing out

In 2026, I'll agree But previously brands used to just surprise us
It should be a crime for an FMCG product to change its packaging design without notifying consumers of the changes.

Can AI replace sales & marketing skills ?

Rage bait or entitlement.... I haven't decided yet
A friend of mine who had 20 clients job to do, called me and offered to give me one of them, I asked how many clients he had, he said 20 and that he was going to give me 1. Later I asked him why he couldn’t just give me atleast 2 instead of just giving me 1, that 1 wasn’t enough for me, he said he was just trying to help. I told him I didn’t need that kind of help, and that if he wanted to help me, he should give me atleast 2 clients or forget about it. I’m not that cheap abeg.

Your favourite guru pushes the narrative of it took me 5mins
The funniest thing about being an AI creator is that people see the final video and think it took 5 minutes. Nobody sees the failed generations, the prompts, the editing and the 20 times you had to start again. 😭

So is it that you want your margins to stay the same even when revenue increases or you want to increase revenue to cover up for the reduced margins? What is the exact problem, margins or revenue?
Calling all the "design should solve problems" people. 👇 Here's the problem: My margins are 20%.
I started increasing my ad budget, revenue went up, but margins dropped to 15%. So I'm investing more but earning less. Solve this problem with design for me. 👀

The issue is your source of truth, not the prompt. You need: - an outline - topic research - your opinion - general opinion - the effects of the topic - the outcome you are looking for - the right sentence structure etc You expect Ai to do all these? Be real
if you're using AI to generate content i think you're kind of cooked tbh im writing an article rn and yes I'm using AI but i have go back and literally re-write fuckin everyting AI doesn't seem to be getting better at writing honestly. we've peaked, at least temporarily. and this is after feeding it my entire repository of linkedin posts ever made as context on how i write.

Another reason I prefer a short term contract work for startups than all the big names... "Head of this... Head of that" But even at that The last one was a lead designer role... Time to get paid, I was told I breached the contract so I would only get paid for the designs used
Maybe I should tell you guys the story of how I was poached by this AI company to be their Head of Marketing. Offer… 3M p/m. What would I be marketing? An AI data center and and the first fully AI radio station in the world. Oya, where the data center? “The equipment is on its way.” How far the radio station? “The transmitter and license one thing one thing. Don’t worry, keep doing the background work so that when we’re ready to go live…” Oya now. Month 1, I no see budget. Dem no on radio. Data center still dey empty but dem buy bicycles for the company. Dem say funding Dey come from the US “anytime from now.” Okay na. Salary day reach. Nothing about salary. They said they were working on opening the company account. I was so confused. A month and a half don pass. I don drive go island 3 times a week. Na so I stop to Dey go. All of a sudden, founder calls a meeting and goes on about how we’re not showing the right attitude to work. I confuse again. I had to go read my employment letter again, make e no be say I sign to work for free 😂 Dem say salary go drop the next day but make I please accept a renegotiation. Dem reduce 3M to 1M. 😂 I like the project. Oya, bring! I come give them conditions. Employ CTO, employ CD. I don do strategy, GTM… everything. Give me sth to market ffs. Dem say make I recommend. I brought my guy on board as CD. He then employed his own creative team. One random day, I got to the office and saw like 25 new faces and cubicles. Ahn ahn, wetin Dey sup? Dem say dem don employ “AI Agents”. I confuse again. One week later, these guys haven’t done jack. I asked what was going on and they said they were waiting for ME TO ACTIVATE THEM. I first burst laugh. Activate you on what? With what? To do exactly what? Next thing, CEO say dem Dey send me, business lead and our robotics guy (that hadn’t done a single thing for 4 months) go Morocco for GITEX.) I didn’t even know we had a robotics team. Wetin dem Dey do? 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, free trip? Bring! We reach Morocco, dem no send money for hotel or food. I say I don die 🤣🤣🤣 Hotel hold our passport for 4 days 🤣 Saxophone never even loud at this point😭 I Dey come. Make I chop first.

You can compete. Get google Gemini pro... You have access to ai studio & flow you won't get the same quality obviously but it's far better than nothing AWS for n8n or vercel for hosting websites You can also get the Google antigravity app & stitch for design
How does a beginner designer even want to compete. My ai subs are $20 Claude for motion videos $100 codex for ui Higgsfield $100 for video generation and content manipulation No beginner can even top this workflow without burning out. But if they have access to this. They will make about $500 to $2k minimum. The funnel is Ai ads to website to automation. Gather your backend friends and create a team

Just 6yrs ago finding a designer who could code properly wasn't easy Now every startup has one

I have been noticing this a lot on Instagram... While there are some accounts I can easily tell is fake Some I can't be immediately sure.
In a couple of years, it will be really hard for new creators to gain traction. Not because of competition (though that will always increase), but because of skepticism. AI accounts will be so indistinguishable from humans (including video) that we won't even know how to trust a new creator's humanity. A body of work from before that time will be invaluable.

So your conclusion is not that there's a cultural difference... Instead it's an attack by foreign governments on the most technologically advanced countries yet they can't root out bots from their system
hot take. here's one of my crazy conspiracies, I don't know, but hey it might just be true. who knows so I noticed when traveling the world that whenever I'm on the internet or in a western country, there's so many people who are heavily against AI. and it doesn't even matter what kind of AI. if you just say AI they're super much against it. even though a lot of these people don't realize they're using AI every single day but whenever I'm traveling in the Middle East or in Asia there just seems to be zero AI hate. or at least with the people I spoke to so hear me out, here's my theory. what if all the AI hate is being pushed by foreign governments, and there's actually just a crazy amount of bots on the internet pushing so the West starts becoming against AI, so that they can catch up anyways I'm gonna stay out of politics. I just thought this was a funny conspiracy. it is just a conspiracy, I'm not saying it's real

Ecom founders need to be told this everyday "Good" ads can't save bad business maths. If you make a net loss of $1 for every customer. No amount of ads can make you profitable. Lose the overhead first
