Rozario’s mother addressed the mayor directly: “You came to my home and said you would be a different kind of mayor. We feel betrayed by you. Jessica Tisch ... let Alongi retire without a trial. It seems like you are just letting this happen.” thecityreporter.nyc/2026/10/…
Would be nice to know how much talk about AI adoption in the film industry is counting machine learning stuff that was already around and has switched to saying "AI." Izotope has been basically the best audio repair plugin since 2007. I wonder if it's counted now as "adoption."

There is a tactical argument for politicians and pundits to distance themselves from "defund the police." Maybe it is bad for elections. Maybe there's a tradeoff you're willing to make. But "that was crazy" is not even accompanied by "here's my plan to stop police violence."
Clarissa is coming to New York! Hearing it's a big year for adaptations of classic texts. 🙂

So why don't you see these people pushing hard for universal healthcare? The workplace protections aren't even great. But I always remember a mentee in a program for doc editors asked me and a longtime editor how to get good insurance and we both immediately said "get married."
Indie producers can still make movies like “Obsession” cheaply in the U.S. by shooting nonunion.
The breakout horror hit filmed in L.A. for just $750,000, but as domestic production slows, IATSE has been pushing harder to “flip” nonunion projects — driving up costs.
“The films I grew up making, for $500,000 or $1 million, the unions are really interested in having those be signatory projects,” producer David Kaplan says.
