THE UNKNOWN (2026): A vertiginous epic of shifting, doubling & tripling identities, Arthur Hararai splinters & recombines his characters in head-spinning & nauseating ways. Léa Seydoux accomplishes miracles. The 1st bonafide MASTERWORK I've seen this year. Extraordinary! #TIFF26

ALL OF A SUDDEN: Hard to find the words for such an overwhelming, masterful, and inspiring work. From Hamaguchi’s soulful, meditative direction to the extraordinary performances of Efira and Okamoto, everything about this film is sublime. #NYFF64 @TheNYFF

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film so humanely empathetic as Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s remarkable ALL OF A SUDDEN. As unexpected friends bonding over their need for kindness, Virginia Efira & Tao Okamoto make an extraordinary team. #AllOfASudden #NYFF64

All of a Sudden is another singular, immersive work from Ryusuke Hamaguchi. Brought me to tears several times with its beautiful intimacies and clear-eyed focus on human connection and endurance (humans are so malleable). Cinema is alive and so are we. #NYFF64

“Once Upon a Time in Harlem” is an astounding documentary that’s the realization of a decades-old dream of the maverick director William Greaves, who in 1972 convened the remaining members of the Harlem Renaissance for a fascinating party that he filmed. nyti.ms/3UWBfKm

Fjord (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is a layered, meditative legal drama designed to ignite a difficult conversation without providing any solid answers. The film shows how allegations of domestic abuse can escalate into a massive political and religious debate that’s guaranteed to divide people in real life. At the same time, Fjord shows how a society that champions tolerance and acceptance can exclude and discriminate against others based on "old-fashioned" ideas. It’s not a black-and-white debate, as the film displays the flaws and humanity on both sides of the argument. On top of that, Sebastian Stan pulls off another stunning transformation, while Renate Reinsve delivers another heartfelt performance. Though Fjord sails slowly, it ultimately delivers a beautifully made drama that brings human warmth to such an icy subject. #Fjord #FilmTwitter #MovieReview #Cinema #NYFF

“I just want Sebastian to know that I did this for him.” 🧑‍🦲 Cristian Mungiu recalls how he was able to convince Sebastian Stan to shave his head for FJORD during a Q&A for the film's #TIFF26 Canadian Premiere.

An incredible chronicle of Black American history, the arts, and the amazing artists and thinkers of the Harlem Renaissance. I wanted to spend 3 more hours engaging with them, and what a great project picked up by the family of William Greaves to bring the film to life #TIFF26

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HARLEM: Such an intimate documentary, I have no idea how William Greaves had the foresight to cook this up. I genuinely felt like I was at the gathering. I wasn't privy to a lot of the artists featured in this doc, so I am forever grateful to Bill for putting me on. #TIFF26
