Allow me to reintroduce myself.
My name is Ifeoma (ifi for short).
I’m a lady with a passion for architecture & communications. On my off days, I’m a performer of multiple arts.
I post about architecture, gadgets, cars and more recently, artificial intelligence for workflow optimization.
Nice to meet you!
I read the news about the lawmaker who died after slipping in his bathroom, and it got me thinking about how we can reduce the impact of bathroom accidents.
Can we start exploring cushioned wall coatings instead of leaving hard tiles exposed in bathrooms? Something like a waterproof, foam-backed wall covering that absorbs impact.
So if at all someone slips and hits their head against the wall, the cushioning could reduce the severity of the injury.
Builders, what do you think?

For real. It was nice having them around, but they didn't actually work. The people who built and bought them are dealing with repairs now. Repainting to more earthy tones cos of dust, adding overhangs to the windows against direct rainfall and light. The list goes on

It’s called a black carpet that welcomes the unlucky occupant into unfortunate building
Please what is that carpet in the middle?
I’m embarrassed.

It's interesting how lawyers will now earn fees that Architects/ QS consultants did not earn.
I paid @NextGenConstrut, whom I met on Twitter, 144 million Naira to build a 5-bedroom duplex. Before construction, I paid him over 1 million Naira separately for the architectural and structural designs.
The original contract duration was 6 months, but they delayed the project significantly. Today, October 11th, they handed over the property in this state.
My lawyer has officially written to him twice after he kept demanding more money. We also hired an independent Quantity Surveyor to value everything on-site from start to finish—the total estimate came to 100 million Naira.
Despite having over 44 million Naira remaining in their possession, @NextGenConstrut handed over the unfinished project and refused to do the flooring, fence, or gate. To my greatest surprise, I logged online only to discover they have blocked me. The matter is currently in court.
