The Vtubing space really does deserve a better class of Vtubers to put on a pedestal, instead of treating a grown ass woman like a helpless baby any time someone says something mean about her. I'll ask the same question... why does everyone have to respect Ironmouse? Since when is Vtubing a democracy and why is she viewed as the PRESIDENT of indie western Vtubing??? Why is she immune to any criticism anytime someone critiques her? Her fans immediately bring up her charities. And? So what? She deserves everyone's respect because she does charity? So does Bill Gates. So does Elon Musk. So does Trump. Does it mean you all have to respect them now? They donated A LOT more money to charity too, so you have to respect them even more, right? I believe I don't need to explain why this line of logic is ridiculous. And I must point out... that it's YOU who are donating to the charities, not HER. YOU. But none of you get the credit. At most she's an organizer for the donations, but the money is coming from YOU. Why are you all treating it as though the money comes out of her pocket? I've never seen her just donating money without fanfare. It's always a subathon or a donothon where YOU are sending money for the charity but she's viewed as the sole donator as though the money comes just from her. If ANYONE deserves the praise it's her fandom, who are so willing to part with so much money for charity! Because of her illness? Yeah, it sucks... but plenty of other people have illnesses and legitimate disabilities. Why aren't they being elevated to a pedestal? Why aren't THEY free from criticism and consenquences? Why aren't you guys praising THEM for their bravery and perseverence? Where is THEIR spotlight? Because she's positive and nice? A popular content creator, basically an actor, is nice on camera. Do I even need to explain how stupid it is to use this as a reason for why nobody is allowed to criticize her? For why she deserves respect? Content creators, by definition, are fake. They are pretending and believing that she's not is not only childishly naive, it's outright stupid. Because of her influence? What kind of influence? She hadn't done SHIT for the Vtubing scene and the things she DID do made it overall WORSE. She was blessed to be put on a pedestal of influence where she could ACTUALLY affect change within this space... and she did NOTHING with it besides trying to distance herself from this space as a whole to cater favor with the normie LA crowd and actively making it worse in the process. She hadn't bothered doing anything for the Vtubing space. Need I remind you that she thought that goddamn Pokimane becoming a Vtuber was a great idea and she welcomed her and her community with open arms into this space? Thankfully less clout-drunk heads prevailed at that time and stopped that tragedy from happening but you're going to tell me that she had the best interests of the Vtubing space in mind after that? That she was a positive influence that actually cared and didn't just look to build up her own clout? Is it because she's an inspiration? If you mean an inspiration on how to be fake, hypocritical and acting like a child the moment an inconvenience hits because you don't have backbone a and the clout and connections are more important than credibility, principles and self-respect... then yeah, she's definitely an inspiration in that regard! If there needs to be someone on that pointless pedestal that Ironmouse occupies, this space certainly deserves someone better on it. At the very least not someone that you need to babysit and coddle everytime they put their foot in their mouth because they had to chase the bag and clout over their own credibility and self-respect.
