ā€œLet me die,ā€ American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah. Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah. Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah. "The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him. Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalistsā€ armed only with a slingshot.

To be clear, the only reason I was able to reach Heidi was because young Palestinians provided cover with rocks against machine-gun- and tear-gas-wielding settlers and soldiers. It’s those kids, not the settler terrorists, who the IDF was hunting after the attack.
This is @infinite_jaz rushing to help Heidi under fire from Israeli settlers slings

Not a single LAPD received a sustained complaint over cops violating protesters or press at last year’s ICE protests. This is despite the federal courts finding so much abuse against press that they issued a restraining order against the LAPD.

This story is bigger than a book simply being cancelled. Penguin Random House pulled Alana Hadid and Jenan Matari’s book about the Palestinian experience after clashing with them over how to tell Palestine’s story. Apparently, even a children’s book about Palestine needs a disclaimer making sure everyone knows October 7 was illegal, while the Nakba, occupation and decades of dispossession are up for editorial debate. Alana and Jenin eventually walked away rather than publish a version they couldn’t stand behind. Imagine having to fight a publisher just to tell your own people’s story. Thankfully, Palestinian-owned Interlink Books will publish it in 2027.

Mamdani supports abolishing ICE because he has no power to actually do so. He doesn't support firing Jessica Tisch or reducing the NYPD's budget because he actually does.
NEW: Mamdani has a policing problem & the ICE shooting in NYC only made it worse. Advocates say they want more than harsh words for Trump on ICE. And while his DSA allies have held back on pushing him too hard on policing, now they say they see an opening theintercept.com/2026/10/09/…

Always remember when an Israeli intelligence agent went on 60 Minutes and said this: ā€œWe create a pretend world. We are a global production company: We write the screenplay. We are the directors, producers, the main actors, and the world is our stage.ā€

Goodbye Paramount Goodbye Warner Brothers Goodbye HBO Hello MAGA TRUMP oligarchy media beast to be called SKYDANCE. Hollywood is now full-blown MAGA and we creatives are FUCKED. Have fun!
What once was the peak, is now just the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture. By combining them, we aren't rewriting history — we're equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling. We chose this name for a few important reasons. First and foremost, as we bring Paramount and Warner Bros. together, we wanted to preserve what has made each of these studios iconic. Both have distinct identities, extraordinary legacies and brands that have resonated with audiences for generations. We never wanted a new corporate identity to diminish, alter or overshadow either one. Instead, we wanted a name that would give the combined company an identity of its own while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. — and all our extraordinary brands — to remain in the spotlight. We have big goals for Skydance, and we intend to pursue them with passion, imagination and a willingness to take smart risks. At the same time, we will honor what makes Paramount and Warner Bros. special — giving both studios the opportunity to grow, tell more great stories and bring those stories to even broader audiences around the world, powered by the scale and capabilities of Skydance. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re going to build together.

Emma Vigeland: "Anti-Muslim racism is the most ubiquitous, quotidian, and pernicious form of bigotry in the 21st Century within the West. You can see it also in the far-right movement against migration in Europe but within the context of this country, it's about the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq, the genocide in Gaza and we have to have a reckoning with it as a society."

Infuriating, but not surprising. A DOJ whistleblower has now confirmed what we said from day one: the "antisemitism" investigations into universities were predetermined, evidence-free, and political. And Columbia's trustees participated in this hoax. They paid $221 million, handed over records, and expelled students to close a deal built on nothing. David Greenwald led that board. Shame on him and on every trustee who went along to advance their Zionist ideology. If they have any dignity left, they resign. And there must be a full investigation into them and it will come. apnews.com/article/trump-har…

Jewish New Yorkers are not facing any structural racism - instead, the most rich and powerful among them often are part of structures of oppression especially against Arabs & Muslims; the last three years of the genocide of Palestinians have been testament to this. And is there a taskforce on anti-Muslim racism? Anti-Black racism? If the attempt here is to appease Zionist Jewish communities (at the expense of the safety of others bc of how antisemitism is defined & used), it won’t do anything because inherent to the ideology of Zionism is the dehumanization of people like the Mayor here. What a shame - not that this mayor upholds the frames that dehumanize our communities but that sycophants will do nothing but cheer him on.
The Talmud teaches that anyone who sustains one soul, has sustained an entire world. For generations, Jewish New Yorkers have sustained our city. Today, we are launching the first-ever municipal Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Together, we will ensure Jewish New Yorkers are safe and celebrated. We will invest in their protection, their history, and their future. Our safety and our thriving are tied together.

One day everyone will wake up and see Pakistan is right up there with Saudi Arabia with destroying, fracturing, and misleading folks re Islam/ carrying out U.S./Israeli agenda. Until then, Afghans will continue to pay the heaviest price for folks’ ignorance.

The NFL is now threatening to pull Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair from games if he continues to wear eye black in support of Palestine. Never forget, they allowed Vikings kicker Greg Joseph to wear Israel cleats on the field, and actively promoted his campaign to donate money to Israel for every successful field goal.

They sure did! Protesting was more offensive than rape to Cornell leaders!
Cornell arrested 22 students for protesting genocide. 7 students allegedly drugged and r*ped a woman for hours and were asked to write an essay. This is what it looks like to be ruled by the Epstein class.

Anti-genocide protestors have protested outside of so many Hollywood events, Variety has been outside many but has never given us the mic like this.
Karen Toledano, a protestor who attended the rally outside the New York Film Festival premiere of ā€œNAZA,ā€ says she feels like Israeli voices ā€œhave been stifledā€ within the creative community: ā€œI feel like our voices have been stifled in spaces that have called themselves inclusive for many years. Sometimes when I do try to have a calm conversation and I’m encountered with anger, I know in my head that there just isn’t an argument on the other side. But it doesn’t make it any easier to swallow when really all you want to do is talk about the facts and set the record straight.ā€ variety.com/2026/film/news/n…
