The AIP-119 voting has reached the needed number of votes, and 99.4% of the votes were "For" the proposal.
So, the "Reduce staking rewards rate by 0.25%" proposal is passed.
Congratulations to everyone who supported this, and a shoutout to @moonshiesty, @BuzzlamicJihad, and others who started this community initiative.

One of the significant AIPs (Aptos Improvement Proposals) is now live, and it's one from the community side, following weeks of discussions and understanding of the best way to proceed with it.
It's the AIP-119, and the voting is now live for the same.
Reduce staking rewards rate by 0.25% each month, and as @moonshiesty mentioned, here is the breakdown of how it would play out in the months ahead.
- June 2025 - from 6.79% to 6.54%
- July 2025 - from 6.54% to 6.29%
- Aug 2025 - from 6.29% to 6.04%
- Sep 2025 - from 6.04% to 5.79%
- Oct 2025 - reduction skip for annual scheduled reduction from 5.79% to 5.71%
- Nov 2025 - from 5.71% to 5.46%
- Dec 2025 - from 5.46% to 5.21%
What first began as a proposal for a 3% reduction in staking rewards ended up here after the large players had their thoughts on how a big reduction can affect the validators as well, so this proposal is now live with a streamlined 0.25% reduction in staking rewards each month, for the next six months.

For the proposal result to count, however, the voting must reach the quorum, i.e., 25.84%. Currently, the turnout is just about 0.2%, so a significant number of votes from the large stakers are needed.
The voting ends on June 21st, 15:38 UTC.
Additionally, thanks to @AmnisFinance and their efforts, Amnis stakers can now also vote on the proposal.
