Can someone explain to me what Ed Sheeran has done wrong? From what I understand, other acts on his tour expressed opinions about Palestine, an owner prevented them from performing in his stadium, Sheeran expressed support for the other performers’ right to free speech while himself declining to comment further on the issue that they are protesting. And now many people seem mad Ed Sheeran, for either 1) supposedly causing the other performers to be dropped from his show (which I think is not at all what happened) or 2) for not joining their protest, which is his right to not do.
It seems to me that he hasn’t done anything wrong, he’s just caught up in something swirling around him that he did not cause nor escalate, but now he’s being made out to be the bad guy. Why? Do I have any of the facts wrong here?
