Find yourself someone who loves you as much as the National Party loves sinking billions of taxpayer dollars into unnecessary roading projects 🥰

Good to see Greens recommit to Light Rail in Auckland
Hopefully Labour aren’t too embarrassed by their previous failure to campaign on it again - the need is still there, it’s still a popular project, and there’s a popular mayor keen to champion it

Congestion at peak times across all of Auckland vs Mill Road
Instead of pulling high-capacity transport infrastructure through core chokepoints, we're upgrading random uncongested rural roads
Very detached from the lived experience of Aucklanders!

Both major parties have talked at length about the need to win Auckland, but it's so hard to connect their policies/actions to this goal
Presumably things like Mill Rd are cooked up by some mix of tarmac-sniffers like Simeon + a bunch of Welly advisors who have never been here?

There's very clear 4 important investment areas for transport in Auckland:
- NW corridor
- Inner south
- Mangere
- Harbour crossing
If you're throwing billions of dollars at projects that don't address these, you're just wasting taxpayer money

i love this cause it doesn't even feel like an ad or whatever. like k road is just excited and wants the world to know it

Good to see that the former Mayor for the Far North is advocating for sensible spending in his backyard
I wonder what he’s up to these days

Chris Hipkins' promise to not raise fuel taxes over the next three years is irresponsible. But National strains credulity when making this point, given it made the same silly promise three years ago:

I think I'm ok with having a Prime Minister's debate between the two people by far most likely to be PM after the election, but those parties should at least send their deputy leaders to an all-party Deputy PM debate.
