Made this graph the other day to get an idea of how ungodly expensive the current crop of RoNS are based on Infrastructure Commission research.
Compare the cost per lane km, with some 50th percentile benchmarks.
Red is post 2023 roads in NZ, yellow pre 2022, and green OECD.

Infra Comm also say that City Centre to Māngere will hit bus capacity within the next decade! The implication being we will likely need a higher order mode (such as light rail)

This page from Auckland Councils Transport Policy Statement is never not pertinent to these motorways lol

This table from Auckland Councils Transport Policy Statement (unanimously supported by Councillors) is always relevant for these announcements lol
Based on the public projections from another OIA, this is how fucked we are without increases to NLTF revenue
I could add Warkworth to Te Hana on top of this, not to mention the rest of the RoNS
Interesting that part of the sensitivity tests for the BCR are also redacted due to risk of 'prejudicing commercial sensitivities'! Wonder what that is
Amazing that the massively boosted BCR for Warkworth to Te Hana is still just over 1 (doubling since the 2019 business case despite the projects cost also doubling)
Funny that spending more money on RoNS is also counter to the cross party supported National Infrastructure plan!
What's really fun is the fact they are no longer proactively release board minutes, is stated clearly on their website!
NZTA is also the same organisation whose Executive Leadership Team decided to stop proactively releasing it's board minutes and papers to the public.
A decision which, when asked directly by MPs at scrutiny week, NZTA's Chief Executive was apparently unaware of...
Heres Auckland Councils high level assessment of Warkworth to Te Hana against strategic outcomes from a couple of years ago. Notice how WW2TH is very very red under 'Quality Compact Growth'
Almost like Council DOESN'T WANT GROWTH IN GREENFIELDS like Wellsford????
