The world can turn upside down in a hurry. Supply chains break, prices climb, storms come through, and store shelves can get picked clean before you know it. Being prepared means more than having a few things put back. It means knowing how to grow your own food, save seed, take care of the soil, and put up what you harvest for later. That’s part of the goal behind Fike Farm and Forest: providing select crops for survival gardens so folks can be a little less dependent on the grocery store and a little more secure at home. This isn’t an ad. It’s a wake-up call. A stockpile won’t last forever. Knowing how to grow your own food can. Garlic, walking onions, potato onions, shallots, sunchokes, berries, perennial vegetables, herbs, carefully selected pumpkin varieties, and other dependable heirlooms that can keep producing year after year.
