I've seen a handful of Lil Pudgy holders get scammed recently - I believe mostly due to private key compromise based on descriptions of the scams and my review of wallet activity. Here's how to avoid losing your NFTs (or other crypto): 1. Start using hardware wallets (Trezor, Ledger, Grid+, Keystone) Store the seed phrases to these wallets offline - NEVER digitally (no pictures, notes app, texts to yourself etc). Write them down or use a physical storage tool! You can also use an MPC wallet like @ZenGo or pair hardware wallets with multisig tech like @safe 2. Be extremely cautious of invitations to download anything A lot of scammers focus on tricking the victim into downloading malware. This is often under the guise of downloading a fake game, app, or meeting software (like a Zoom impersonator) Just straight up don't download random stuff on any device you use for crypto. Hold meetings on your own terms using Web based tools like Google Meets. Never run code or "update" an app on your device because someone else told you to. Don't compromise your devices with bootleg apps or APKs (Android Package Kits) for Android users either. 3. Revoke Open Approvals with @RevokeCash Open approvals for NFTs and tokens also help scammers trick you into signing away assets on phishing sites. I encourage everyone to have a "vault" wallet that they have NO approvals on whatsoever. Store your most valuable assets here and only keep what you need on "warm" and hot wallets. You can revoke approvals with Revoke Cash or Etherscan, and if you have no open approvals you can even earn our Cold Storage SBT with Revoke. 4. Use scam detection tools like @Kerberus to detect scams When all else fails, having a browser extension to help you detect scams in real time is useful. This won't stop you from downloading malware but it will help you detect signature scams across EVM and Solana. Worth checking out and moving most of your transacting to desktop to enable this protection. 5. DYOR on who and what you interact with Use tools like @ethos_network to check out people's reputation. A lot of scam accounts on X have received reviews here. When you're interacting with protocols, double check your links, contract addresses, and announcement info in multiple sources. Compare what you see on X to what's posted in Discord or Telegram, and vice versa. Scams are 100% avoidable if you set up a strong and simple system to prevent them. Only you can prevent scams!
