You hate to see it
But more than that, you love to see it
One of the most disappointing endings to an MLB season ever?😬
A franchise that committed over $1.8 billion to just five players:
Ohtani: $700M
Betts: $365M
Yamamoto: $325M
Tucker: $240M
Snell: $182M
2026 adjusted payroll: $339M
Deferred salary commitments: $1.1 billion
And after all that, they get SWEPT in the NLCS by a Milwaukee Brewers team with a $146M payroll 🧹

Check out these 2013 photos of:
Then-Gov. Pat McCrory
Then-House Speaker Thom Tillis,
And then-state Sen. Josh Stein.
Playing basketball against South Carolina lawmakers in Raleigh.
Bet you didn't know that in 2013 a sequel to Space Jam was filmed in Raleigh starring three then-unknown hoopers. Ultimately Warner Brothers opted to scrap the nearly finished film and replaced the hoopers with LeBron James. Space Jam 2 was finally released in 2021.

After a long day and night of phone calls, prayers, preparation, and some worry, as you can tell from this picture, sent to me from Lake Logan, it appears Haywood County has made it through the storm with blue skies ahead.

My preference period be to focus on getting hits in the postseason
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has partnered with Kalshi, making him the first MLB player to venture into prediction markets.
Kalshi is also reportedly in talks with MLB for a leaguewide deal.

Fall is a confusing time for SEC fans when the Braves are in the playoffs because we hate each other in general but then unite for 3-hour increments throughout the week
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Eight years ago Ray Kerr was working at 7/11 and a local movie theater
He went undrafted, signed for $2,000 and grinned through 7 minor league seasons
He's now started two postseason games for the Braves as an opener, not allowing an earned run in 5.2 innings
What a journey

In honor of the Atlanta Braves moving on in the Postseason last night here’s a reminder that Dale Earnhardt was indeed a Braves fan
this is all i need. braves in 5.
Alright Braves fans, listen up. Tomorrow’s game 1, let me break it down for you.
You got 9 innings.
You got 3 outs an inning.
That’s 27 outs.
But the Braves only need 1 more run than the Dodgers, so you take 27, subtract 1, add the 9 innings, carry the 2 and the Dodgers’ chances of winning just dropped to 33⅓%.
Then you add the Braves home run power to the mix, and their chances go up another 25%.
But the Dodgers KNOW they gotta come through Atlanta to get where they’re going, so you take their 33⅓%, cut it in half, and now they got a 16⅔% chance of surviving.
Braves got 83⅓%.
Dodgers got 16⅔%.
And if you don’t understand the math, don’t worry about it.
THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE, AND THEY SPELL DISASTER FOR L.A.
CHOP ON!
