I am so proud to be a part of what we have been building over here at @ourcitysc this season. We have established a proven pathway and our players and families have been immense in achieving it. I am looking forward to what’s yet to come!
We got a visit from Petey and Benny today. They both did this handstand foot rub thing. It was interesting to watch.
I was thinking about the bot farm news today and we really are stuck in the matrix on this app. Just feeding the machines that control us without us knowing, until something comes along and shines a light on them.
Does this factor into comps like shipping costs do?

Me and my buddies are opening a card shop. They gave me free rein on the design and concept. So I created the Employee84 Funhouse but in real life. I can’t wait to show everyone.

Me and the boys came up with the All 22 of Pokemon from original 150 (no legendaries)
I think we nailed it

I really miss going to K-mart with my dad and him letting me go into the bargain section of junk wax to pick a box out for like $10. Those cards weren't worth much but the time I spent asking him if a player was good or not and putting them into my binder got me into collecting.
Saw collectors discussing Year-over-Year print runs... what that ignores is the staircase.
2023: ~115M base cards. About 349K copies of every base card.
2024: Topps prints ~27% more (stat from @ToppsBb). The first step up.
2025: ~197M base cards. Up ~71% from 2023. The 39.8% everyone is quoting is the second step, not the first.
2026: the odds sheet is out. Hobby Gold is 1:21, vs 1:14 in 2024. By my math that’s ~205-220M base cards, the third step.
One year-over-year number reads like a spike. THREE years of them is a staircase, and it’s nearly double where it started.

🤣😂🤣 three months ago no one thought the Padres would be in the playoffs. They managed to not only find a way in, but get to a divisional series where no game was beyond reach. These grades are a direct reflection of emotional reactions.
I watched a former Padre almost eat it once because someone said hi, and he looked back to wave and got wobbly.
With that said, I don't think you can over-regulate someone's life. Unless they ride dirt bikes and do crazy jumps with them or something.
Onto next season. I’m still happy for the opportunity to be watching baseball this late in the year. It wasn’t always like this for Padres fans.

DI Cabinet approves proposal that would move men's soccer to a two-semester playing season. Because it passed with less than 75% of the vote, the proposal will now go to a 30-day rescission period, during which eligible DI schools or conferences can submit a vote to defeat the new rule. If two-thirds of the eligible members do not vote to defeat it, it will subsequently take effect.
The Cabinet's vote is not final until its meeting concludes later today.
