The story we are told by media is that the electorate lurched right. Whether it is Germany or Australia it’s the same . That is the convenient story. Wicked far right politicians leading sheep toward evil . The true story is simpler: the media reclassified the center, then demanded everybody comply . It’s the non compliance they label as “ far right “ Hold that there are two sexes and you are a bigot. Question gender affirming hormones for children and you are as well Want immigration that is lawful, limited, and chosen by the country receiving it, and you are far right. Believe a nation is more than an economic zone that it has a language, a memory, and a culture worth keeping and you are a radical and probably a coloniser . Think crime should meet a consequence, and you have become extreme. Prefer that people be judged by what they can do rather than the category they occupy, and even merit is now a right-wing tell. These aren’t the slogans of a fringe. They were the default assumptions of ordinary media the most radicalised media in civilisations history. What changed is not that millions of voters discovered a new ideology. What changed is the media filing system. The media has been radicalised to the point they actively despise & reject their own audience who with a few minor exceptions haven’t changed at all .
