I’m increasingly leaning toward the idea that consciousness emerges as a byproduct of generalizing, compressing, and filtering millions of processes happening within the body and in the world around it. I don’t believe in a soul or a divine spark. I’m convinced that consciousness can be explained rationally. And if it can be explained, then there’s a chance it can be reproduced.
