Reports that Serbia (aided by Vladimir Putin) may invade Kosovo are credible. This obviously increases the risk of a wider conflict in Europe. It underlines how serious situations can erupt out of nowhere. When the unthinkable becomes unavoidable, we go to war with the armed forces we have not those we would ideally like. I wonder what else needs to happen before we start to expand our military capabilities.
