"Speculators and helpers".. SpeculateDAO har just donated 250$ to Grenlandsaksjonen! Our donation has helped pay for about 2% of what is needed to fix the roof on a community house in one of the rural villages they are involved. This house is used for all sorts of activities for both children and grown ups, and it is of high importance to get it fixed before winter comes along. SpeculateDAO is a club of crypto investors, where the purpose is not just to make smart investments to benefit ourselves, but also help each other to stay safe in a space full of dishonest players. We also set aside considerable amounts to help out on good causes. We prefer small and transparent organizations where the funds go directly and fully to the cause, and here Grenlandsaksjonen fits in perfectly. They started as a spontanious relief aid for Romania in late 1989. There was a devastating political chaos in Romania at the time, and a group of people in Telemark could not sit and watch all this suffering unfold. On the day before Christmas they got together, collecting supplies and foods, clothes and medical equipment - and after just 5 days the first long haul truck left Norway! Truely an amazing achievment. But they did not stop there - one month later they had collected enough to send 14 trucks at the same time. And since then they have kept it going for 35 years, many of the same people still being the core persons. Yesteday I met With Hilde Sletten, one of the people who have been engaged since the start. The Speculate DAO Alphas headed to Bristol last week to volunteer with the Homeless Meal Service. We have raised £2000 from our Pen Y fan SAS Challenge that will be directly used to buy food for Bristol’s homeless. The HMSB supports upto 100 people each Wednesday night providing high quality food for those in need. It was an incredibly humbling experience and one we are looking forward to repeating over the coming months.
