EVENTS THIS WEEK include a special cat story time with adoptable kittens and a book pop-up at The Met Cloisters to celebrate Día de los Muertos 💀🌼

Our sixth #UptownKidLit was a blast 🚀 Even with the heavy rain, we welcomed 500 people to @sugarhillmuseum, had 30 volunteers running around, hosted 21 authors and teaching artists, and gave away over 1,700 books! Not bad for a rained-out day in a new venue ❤️
Happy #ClimateWeek and the first week of fall! We’re continuing the busy book energy with FIVE standalone book events with authors, and two of them en español. Plus we have a new gallery going up at #RecirculationNYC and two offsite this weekend for @BridesMarch and @bkbookfest
We want to take a moment to thank our sponsors and community tables for making #UptownKidLit possible this year! We lost a major sponsor but were still able to pay all our teaching artists and performers.
Check out their pages and send them all love!
Beautiful night celebrating the legacy of the Mirabal Sisters in this new graphic novel adaptation ❤️ Thank you @writerjalvarez #KrystalQuiles and @Claud9_ for the great discussion of #InTheTimeOfTheButterflies
Due to rain, #UptownKidLit will be at @sugarhillmuseum this Sunday! The programming schedule has shifted slightly but we’ll still have the same fun with stories, activities, and FREE BOOKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES.
See you there at 10:30am when doors opens!
Preorder award-winning author Ayad Akhtar’s new novel by 9/23/26 and get a signed copy! wordupbooks.com/book/wus9781…
Claudia De la Cruz is joining Julia Alvarez and Krystal Quiles in conversation! If you didn’t know, Claudia founded a young women’s leadership group named Da Urban Butterflies in honor of the Mirabal sisters.
