The hypocrisy of rage-bait patriotism is something to behold. Conservatives are attacking NDP MLAs over poppies that weren't visible on camera, while defending a premier who publicly declared she refused to wear one. Roll the tape. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
“Save Canada.” Where are the poppies? Ten days after CAF members died in Alberta, so many NDP caucus members appear without poppies in today’s video. Big patriotic campaign. Where’s the gesture of remembrance? #Alberta #CAF #LestWeForget

I was asked about this during a talk yesterday in Calgary, and my first thought was "why hasn't Rory had an chart about this in the last 24 hours?" Well, here we are. Look at the middle chart and the value of WCS *at Houston* before you start blaming pipeline capacity.
🇨🇦🛢️😱 Western Canadian Select crude differentials continue to get crushed, now $31/bbl below WTI in Hardisty, Alberta. That's tied for the widest spread in late-2022, and before that the late-2018 diff blowout that forced production curtailment in early 2019. But this time it isn't pipeline capacity shortages—the transportation proxy (far right chart) is completely line. This rout is being entirely driven by the diff at Houston, now at an all-time high of >$23/bbl. That normally means an issue with light-heavy quality, which is partly to blame here. But this time it's much more driven by our record-high tanker rate environment. Canadian heavy crude *re*exports out of the US Gulf Coast have historically gone as far as India, which is an exceptionally expensive trip (~10x normal) atm. Combine that with additional Venezuelan crude availability this year and you need to heavily discount your barrel to get someone to bite, and it's this small pool of marginal barrels that are dragging down the entire Western Canadian pricing complex. The brutal irony is that just at the moment Canada is finally diversifying exports to Asia that the long trip to Asia becomes a serious pricing vulnerability in this spiked tanker market. Tanker rates have also widened the spread between WTI and Brent, so WCS gets the double-whammy of the compounding diffs.

There’s a huge gap between what Albertans want and need and what the UCP think is their mandate. Good ad.
So that’s why she’s not actually helping Alberta families with health care, affordability, education or creating good jobs... Danielle Smith is wasting our time and money on the wrong priorities.

Always a UCP grift. If there isn't an angle to pocket some cash for themselves, or cronies or their masters, the government of Alberta doesn't do a damn thing. Smith's UCP isn't governing for Albertans, they're picking the public purse to fill their pockets with our tax dollars.
Oh, look! Is Abigail Schimke, the UCP’s Central Alberta Director, the same Abby Schimke who works in Administration at Lighthouse Christian Academy — the very school that was just awarded $4 million by the Government of Alberta? 🤔

“We now live in a world where the President of the United States is not only willing but eager to negotiate with a war criminal Vladimir Putin. He doesn’t do this out of strategic necessity, but because he possesses the mind of a child who is easily manipulated, easily flattered, and dangerously blind to the consequences of his own vanity. Putin understands this all too well. The Russians and the FSB could fill book on how to twist and bend Trump and America to their will, feeding his insatiable narcissism with little more than a few well placed words.” “This is the grim reality we face, a President who would sacrifice Europe, not for peace, not for diplomacy, but for the illusion of his own strength. He does not seek justice, but the appearance of it, playing the role of a dealmaker while in truth pandering and submitting to a war criminal who has slaughtered thousands, orchestrated atrocities, and drawn the unmitigated condemnation of the international community.” “In less than a decade, Donald Trump has pushed America further from its allies than at any point in the past 80 years. He has trampled on the very principles that once defined the nation, dismantling alliances, sowing distrust, and degrading the global standing of the United States with reckless abandon.” “Now, he is sending a message to every dictator, every autocrat, and every warmonger across the world that sovereignty is negotiable, that invasions can be legitimised, that war crimes can be excused if you simply know how to stroke the ego of this narcissist.” “This is not strength. This is not strategy. This is idiocy on a biblical scale.” @Bricktop_NAFO - February 2025

😅😅😅 "Diana Fox Carney has more letters after her name than needed to spell John Brassard."
Fun Fact 1 — @JohnBrassardCPC has a Grade 12 education as his highest level achieved. He flunked out of community college (next to impossible to do) eventually becoming a fireman. Fun Fact 2 — Diana Fox Carney has more letters after her name than needed to spell John Brassard.

It is time. @ABDanielleSmith MUST resign. Redford resigned for much less than this.
Albertans have lost confidence in Danielle Smith and the UCP. Albertans overwhelmingly rejected separatism, and voted down the UCP's proposed constitutional changes. Yet Danielle Smith continues to waste taxpayers' money fighting First Nations in court while refusing to accept the message Albertans have sent her. Albertans deserve a government focused on fixing health care, improving education, and lowering the cost of living. But the premier is spending her time and our money fighting political battles instead of fighting for the real priorities of Alberta families.

If this reminds you of the Trump Administration’s use of U.S. civil rights legislation to target legal protections against discrimination and promote bogus claimsof “reverse discrimination” against white bros, there’s probably a pretty good reason for that.albertapolitics.ca/2026/10/i…

If for no other reason, vote against every damn Republican on the ballot because of this. Because of this disgrace, this shame. What happened to Alex Pretti should never happen in America.👇
Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.
