Teachers arenât indoctrinating students. They arenât grooming them. They arenât from the âdumbâ classes in college.
None of this even should need to be said but here we are.
Please support candidates who value teachers / public schools. Our society would crumble without them.
Looks like at least someone in the Reeves family has committee meetings on his calendar. #iykyk

Why have I become so vocal a school voucher critic?
Itâs not complicated.
1. Over the last decade, vouchers caused some of the worst academic results ever seen.
2. In response, the voucher lobby turned back to Christian Nationalism to sell its story.
I reject both.

Your reminder that WCSB members, who are policy-bound to refrain from participation in partisan politics as part of their role, had to APPLY for the endorsement of the 1776 PAC.
Yâall â @RyanGirdusky, founder of the 1776 PAC that claims credit for the new extreme WILLIAMSON COUNTY @WCSedu school board members, just said something obscenely racist and offensive to @mehdirhasan live on CNN, then tried to apologize.

âĄď¸UPDATE: CNN has banned @RyanGirdusky after his racist comments to @mehdirhasan tonight.
Again: Ryan is the founder of 1776 PAC that claims credit for 4 new right wing Williamson county @WCSedu school board member wins (+1 Wilson county)

âWhy would you give public taxpayer funds to a private school that is not policy-bound to educate all students?â Garrett asks.
Seems like a fair question. As well as not beholden to the public funding it? nashvillescene.com/news/cityâŚ
đ Watch how new WCSB Board Chair Josh Brown interrupts and threatens to cut the mic of @EricWelchWCS when he's speaking about the motion on the floor to rescind last March's resolution that passed opposing public school voucher legislation:

Every #WCSB board member, when voting for or against anything related to school vouchers, should first have to state whether or not they currently have a child in private school or have plans to do so within their term.
Rescinding an anti-voucher resolution the very first month you're on the Board sounds about right from out of state PAC endorsed candidates.

No One Could Have Seen This Coming Except the Many People Who Saw It Coming
Arizona, the model for voucher programs across the country, has spent so much money paying private schoolersâ tuition that itâs now facing hundreds of millions in budget cuts to critical state programs and projects.

đRemember when 2 years ago we blogged about #WCSB Josh Brown's 100% alignment with Moms for Liberty anti-public ed stances? The new Board chair is wasting NO time in being their surprise guest at the meeting on the group's book banning and curriculum censorship efforts. /1

Super stoked that @WCSedu football games haven't been rescheduled. đ¤Śââď¸
It's becoming painfully clear that the only thing that might force actual change for our children and their educators is for a national public school teacher walkout.
If only a heart broken dad had created a website with every state's safe gun storage laws neatly summarized. You could look up GA and see all efforts have been blocked. If only......I ask myself that a lot. songstrong.org/safe-gun-stor⌠#ethanslaw #EndGunViolence

Retiring TN State Representative Sam Whitson has penned an endorsement letter in support of @BeathardforTN to replace him.
Iâll take the endorsement of Colonel Whitson over that of out-of-state PACs any day and twice on Sunday!

Question: why do so many of Lee Reevesâ mailers come from out of state orgs, like School Freedom Fund?
Answer: because he is backed by national pro voucher organizations that have nothing to do with our community.
Itâs a big tell when most of a candidateâs mailers arenât local

This is why it's so hard to get great people to run for office - the bullying they and their family members receive form totally unhinged keyboard trolls is beyond the pale. Franklin's Jonathan Wells is notoriously ugly and now we can add insulting a Vietnam Veteran to the list.
