Store manager and ring back on Monday, they didn’t. Two things from my point of view: 1) I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect you to be able to source parts to repair an item I have bought from you (I have tried privately but the steerer tube on this fork is unique). 2/3

Fantastic open grown, veteran Rowan, flowering @WildHaweswater this week. This lucky tree is well situated to provide seed for natural colonisation of wood pasture thanks to the removal of sheep & good deer management. Fantastic to see more & more of these opportunities appearing

Sign Jenny's petition calling on Labour peers to back the fatal motion in the Lords ⤵️ change.org/p/ask-labour-peer…
'This rather cheating, nasty government have tried to sneak it in the back door.' Baroness @GreenJennyJones tells @mrjamesob that ministers are 'breaking all conventions' by trying to bring in a Public Order Bill amendment that was already thrown out by the House of Lords.

If Labour stands for anything, it must stand against this unprecedented move by the government to overturn a parliamentary decision. It is bypassing democracy, to stamp out what little remains of our right to protest. This is a dictatorial gambit. bylinetimes.com/2023/06/08/a…

Joined @NECumbria colleagues Weds to visit High Lickbarrow Farm, Windermere, hosted by @nationaltrust to look at this fantastic young wood pasture mosaic. Light cattle grazing only - no sign of it hampering regeneration, quite the opposite. Isn’t the Hawthorn glorious this year?

"The only demonstrations that really work are disruptive ones." @GaryLineker believes disruptive climate protesters could be considered "heroes" if the world takes action against the climate crisis, and says "it's very worrying" people are being arrested for protesting.

Rishi Sunak might seem like the acceptable, smiling face of Conservatism. But his attacks on the freedom to strike and the freedom to protest would not be out of place in a police state. Latest video for @DoubleDownNews

A thought provoking read. It really surprises me how quick we are in the conservation sector to place blame on the litterers (or fly-campers, etc.) rather than directing the blame towards the system which has created the underlying problems. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

This applies to all retail outlets. No one needs these poisons in their garden.
Do you have a sustainability policy @coopnews? A Nature crisis is gathering pace & putting these toxic pesticides in a shop is the wrong thing, especially next to the wild bird food! Please stop retailing these poisons, which are causing wildlife losses sussex.ac.uk/broadcast/read/…

Looking after the tree rhizosphere & microbiome is so important in ensuring tree health. In wood pasture & parkland this includes removing the unnecessary stressors which are unfortunately almost ubiquitous - compaction, erosion, excess nutrients, physical damage, infill, etc.
