setting aside tech’s adversarial + aggressive tendencies towards the press, i do think the main weakness of some journalists is the gap in technical understanding. though there exists a pool of science journalists with advanced degrees who could be useful. two cents!

Amazing productions have been put on in the past year: The Barber of Seville, Idomeneo, Dead Man Walking and the world premiere of Monkey King, to name a few. Next year, the opera plans on producing Wagner's Ring Cycle. None of these would be possible without the orchestra!

Management initially asked musicians to take pay cuts (and then amended this to a pay freeze) at a time where rent and the general cost of living in this city have shot up insanely. Would you take a pay cut or freeze in this economy?

I love the opera and rave about it to all of my friends, and it’s very sad to have Opera in The Park and the opening night of Simon Boccanegra cancelled this year because of negotiations with the orchestra!

What irritates me about San Francisco is that it’s a city with boatloads of money floating around (like Titanic-levels of cash), yet institutions like @SFOpera run deficits that are entirely fixable by a sliver of a random company’s Series D raise.

I used a Waymo to move between apartments last year! just stuffed all my luggage in the back. Only took one trip and the only annoying part was how it waited in the middle of the street instead of pulling off to the side for loading
