Just out!📢NSSI thoughts, urges, and self-efficacy to resist are highly dynamic—self-injury increases in the afternoon and peaks in the evening. These findings highlight the need for real-time interventions and the value of EMA for assessing risk moments outside the therapy room
In this cohort study of treatment-seeking individuals, nonsuicidal self-injury cognitions and behavior appeared to be dynamic over the short term. ja.ma/40exSPh @Gkiekens

Nice study on a question I’ve been wondering about!
Now let’s see if our preference for emotional comfort from humans vs. AI shifts over time…
Preprint alert! 🚨 Ever tried talking to ChatGPT or Claude 🤖 about emotional events? How did you feel about the response?

🚨INVITATION TO COLLABORATE: We are in need of data from the HiTOP-Self Report measure within a general population for a project exploring psychopathology within cancer survivors versus a general population. If you have HiTOP-Self Report data from within a general population that you are willing to share, and if you are interested in collaborating, please reach out!

I did a really enjoyable podcast interview on this study with Riva Stoudt for her podcast 'A Therapist Can't Say That'. Loved the chance to discuss these ideas with someone doing clinical work in the real world!

How do your favorite disorders fare in a data-driven reorganization of the DSM-5?
Find out in this new preprint where we followed the patterns in 14,762 individuals’ symptoms with the goal of overcoming limitations in both the DSM and @HiTOP_system
xitter.cf/PsyArXiv_bot_v2/status…

ALT A representation of how symptoms of some exemplar constructs in the DSM-5 map onto the hierarchical structure we found. On the left are examples of disorders with symptoms that mostly hung together in the data-driven structure (i.e., ‘notably homogenous disorders’) and on the right are examples of disorders with symptoms that scattered throughout the data-driven structure (i.e., ‘notably heterogeneous disorders’).
