The BBC's "top story" right now is 'Man likes wife'. This sort of story undermines anybsens of balance on the monarchy, and reveals a lack of editorial independence from the state #AbolishTheMonarchy

A UN-member intensifies genocide vs a people that a UN agency protects. Then it declares said UN agency 'terrorist' (along with its internal 'liberal' opposition). Can there be a more open&shut case for sanctions/expulsion of said rogue UN member-state?

While Starmer has been what policy wonks call "a twat" in accepting gifts, it's worth remembering that Tory leadership candidate #RobertJenrick gets £2k in expenses a month from the tax payer to rent in his constituency, despite owning properties worth at least £3.6 million.

ALT Text from Wikipedia: Jenrick owns three homes, including two in London, one of which is a £2.5m townhouse less than a mile from the Houses of Parliament. He also owns Eye Manor, a Grade I listed building in Herefordshire which he purchased for £1.1 million in 2009. His constituency of Newark is 150 miles (240 km) from his family home in Herefordshire. He rents a £2,000-per-month property in his Newark constituency, which is paid for by the MPs' second homes allowance.

Gianni Infantino has flown more than 600,000 kilometres on a private jet owned by Qatar the past three years. He defied the pandemic and principles of good governance to become an elite polluter.

We now have a universal workaround for LNER fares.
For travel London <> all stations Newcastle-Edinburgh inclusive, DO NOT book to/from London:
1. Book to/from Finsbury Park
2. In the search results, click 'Filters' then 'Route options'. Under 'Go via ' enter Kings Cross.
Despite having seen the term in dozens of texts over the years, I still don't really understand what "ethnology" is, and how it differs from any of social-cultural anthropology, cultural studies or cultural geography.
Because no-one reads book chapters nowadays, a short thread about my chapter "Time Journeys Through the Night Sky". 👇
It's in Stanley Brunn's Geography of Time, Place, Movements and Networks collection (link.springer.com/book/10.10…). The chapter was fun to write and I hope to read!
As time journeys through the night sky become ever more threatened from light pollution and low-orbit satellites - hello @elonmusk - responses need to re-create everyday engagements with darkness, rather than relying on spectacular events or sites
That's a whistle-stop tour! The full chapter is at link.springer.com/chapter/10…, if your institution subscribes to Springer's book chapters then you should be able to access it. Or dm me for a pre-published authors' version.
