Many of these markers have been stolen from cemeteries and churchyards over the years, and others taken home by relatives and find their way into house clearances and auctions.
It’s always great to be able to give them a good home when they resurface, and owners are often happy to donate them too.

Yet another battlefield theft - there have been far too many on both #WW1 and #WW2 sites in recent years.
Unfortunately, the rumours are true. 51st Highland Div. monument Bréville ridge. Stolen!
I have no words.

I gave a talk last night on 2nd Battalion, Hertfordshire Regiment and No.9 Beach Group on D-Day. A couple were astounded that one of the local casualties had lived in their house - they never knew! They are now busy creating a memorial for him in their home. #Ilovehistory
