Generation and curtailment at British wind farms during Storm Éowyn earlier this year 🌬️⚡
Notice the wind farms in Scotland turning off as the storm passes due to very high wind speeds and transmission constraints
It's wonderful to see what others are building with WeatherLayers GL since it has been open-sourced. Congrats Sebastian Haglund to the public release of @rebase_energy map and thanks for your sponsorship! linkedin.com/posts/sebaheg_m…
WeatherLayers GL 2025.1.0 is out, try it when it's fresh!
With this release, we also announce new datasets to be available at WeatherLayers Cloud:

WeatherLayers GL interleaving with @maplibre globe works! Just a few finishing touches left and it will be ready for release.
WeatherLayers Cloud request count since the beginning of the year, with the pattern of recent LA events, as monitored by @watchdutyapp. Our infra is holding perfectly. It seemed that the situation has started improving there over time. But today there is another spike? Yikes!
Support for upcoming deck.gl 9.1 with Maplibre 5.0 Globe is in progress! 🚀
@WeatherLayers is proud to support @watchdutyapp, a non-profit wildfire monitoring app
This Tue-Wed, geospatial visualization fans are gathering for deck.gl's Open Visualization Collaborator Summit 2024. We're going to have a presentation about WeatherLayers as well! deck.gl/events/london-summit…
WeatherLayers GL 2024.4.0 brings an upgrade to deck.gl 9.0. This drops support for WebGL1 in favour of WebGL2. See deck.gl/docs/whats-new and deck.gl/docs/upgrade-guide for upgrading. Although it's a major change, we don't expect any issues. Let us know how it goes!
New features for vibrant colorful visualizations have landed in our February release! 🌈
