one of the big issues, imo, is that Blizzard stopped upskilling their players by introducing LFR. Back then when you wanted to raid, you had to get good enough for normal/base diff. Now there is no reason. I think WoW is waaay past that issue now but that's how it started.
My Opinion on what’s wrong with raiding in Retail WoW: docs.google.com/document/d/1… I tried to keep it the shorter side and could drone on much longer, so probably some points missed / explained poorly. The post below from Nascent still rings true to me us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wo…

I learned a while ago not to pay attention to Dev interviews on raiding Mythic. - We been told we wouldn't need Addons for Pen/Last Bosses. Now we use Macros and 3 Addons to facilitate what WA did. - We are starting to see the reuse of same mechanics. Hold Egg/Light don't touch eachother - Here's a thousand glavies - Ion interview saying one shot mechanics would go away. They don't think 1 person should be responsible for the wipe of an entire raid. Since then every fight has had a one shot mechanics by single raiders. - Lessen the cognitive load on players. it's actually quite opposite now. More slop on every fight - Their decisions on nerfing bosses and timing of them are always weird, and or unnecessary, or on some sort of strict timer. - We now know as we always have known that they cater to the RWF event. They said so and confirmed in recent interviews. It's post race changes that they slack on. - Mythic Guilds are dying left and right or being just burnout from the same formulaic way of prepping. I love Mythic raiding. But even I am not sure what needs to change. Hopefully in TLT they figure out something new, different. We always just get empty promises on the raiding scene. Especially on Mythic. I am glad though that LFR-Heroic is a lot more approachable as is M+. We have had all time highs in end game participation in Midnight. Hoping they can figure out a way to make Mythic raiding enjoyable for those who currently don't enjoy it

Crazy day yet sad day. Had a lot of fun working on Unhalted Unit Frames but ultimately, after today, it's just not worth what I experienced today 🫡

A Message Regarding the 12.0.5 Launch The 12.0.5 patch launch was not up to our standards, and we know this disrupted your time and caused justified frustration. The team has been working around the clock since launch to stabilize the game and fix the biggest issues players were hitting right away: - See our hotfixes update here: blizz.ly/4mLyhSR The team is taking lessons learned from this launch to help ensure this doesn't happen again. We will also work harder to communicate openly, early, and often when a launch doesn't go as expected: the known issues we're working on, fixes as they roll out, and any other information that would be useful to our community as problems are worked on and solved. We care deeply about this game, and we play it right alongside you. We will do better. Thanks for sticking with us, The World of Warcraft Team

L'ura is honestly the first fight of Midnight so far where I've said "oh this fight wouldn't work if Weakauras still existed" The most difficult part of this fight is trying to make sure 15 other people understand what "clockwise rotation" means, and what a diamond is lmao

Yo @Warcraft I have a banger idea. Co-Stream the RWF from your channel, put it on the launcher, get the devs from the last few bosses of the raid on to talk about them as the guilds figure them out and progress. I would watch that.

People said WeakAuras made it so you were "playing the UI" instead of playing the game. I'd argue that playing *against* hostile UX is an even worse form of "playing the UI." Healers should've gotten better tools in the base UI well before addon restrictions became a factor.
