Berlin comes clean with its energy priorities for the EU: block nuclear power, force France to implement renewables at the expense of low carbon nuclear. (increasing CO2 emissions) Energiewende becomes but a collosal mistake if the rest of the EU goes nuclear + renewables. To save the dream, rest of EU must follow. But new nuclear is built or planned in France, Netherlands, (UK), Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria , Romania , Hungary and Slovenia. Italy recently left the antinuclear club, with Spain and Belgium on the ropes of nuclear phaseout. Germany and Austria become more and more isolated. Germany becomes less and less relevant in the discourse after a series of catastrophic policy blunders: ➡️disastrous gas project with Russia ➡️Atomausstieg in the middle of the war ➡️energy-related recession ➡️other policy failures Those are weighing heavily on German leadership within the EU. And this is not good neither, EU needs strong and rational Germany. This battle risks hurting the whole's block stability, because the other countries will not willingly follow the insane path to implement 100% RE scenarios. And if they don't Germany is sc*ewed. Who will prevail?
