This is total guesswork, but that description suggests it’s (for a non-GPS Watch, although I thought that all S2+ had GPS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) using something similar to INS en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inerti… using the Compass and Accelerometer to ‘track/calculate’ your relative position.

So much talk about UK electricity prices (for good reason) but no mention at all that the only reason prices are so high is that we *burn* *fossil* *fuels*. This is about gas & oil. Wind & solar are cheaper & their cost hasn’t changed. We need to say this loudly & more often.
