Sales people don't need to be thought leaders. Somewhere along the AI slop timeline, the sales rep started talking more than listening. Especially in biotech / life science.
Damn, that hit me in my feelies. 100%

Massenhaftes Scannen privater Nachrichten muss in einem Rechtsstaat tabu sein. "Solchen Vorschlägen wird Deutschland auf EU-Ebene nicht zustimmen", betont Bundesjustizministerin Stefanie Hubig. (1/2)

Paper2Audio is the best text-to-audio software I've tried. Currently free and also provides optional additional context. The voice is actually pleasant and the summary captures the most relevent points. If I enjoyed the audio, I'll read the paper. paper2audio.com/
Started reading scientific literature whenever I get the urge to doomscroll. Great, now I know -> "Roughly 10% of all ALS cases are familial, 90% of all cases occur sporadically." +1 internet drama, -1 self improvement
So much wisdom packed into a few sentences.
While the administration is trying to hammer MFN drug pricing into place (I think it's doubtful), maybe they should also focus in on the regulatory environment in Europe and their insistence on a randomized trial for approval/coverage. $AUTL is left trying to painfully scratch a business out of a rare cancer indication in the US, bypassing European countries that enjoy setting up requirements that aren't always ethical or necessary. That's why oncologists in Europe go through the charade of minimal chemo therapy before switching to immunotherapy for Merkel cell carcinoma. No randomized trial. But it is the only alternative to a death sentence with chemo. And we know it is statistically highly valuable for patients. Gold standards are fine, but you shouldn't unnecessarily sacrifice lives for them. Rare cancers are tough, even at astronomical prices for the individual. Which is why Big Pharma has so little interest.

Meanwhile in Germany ... Today I'm paying for a mandatory pre-test for the written portion of my son's driving exam. It's a small, but illustrating example of why a driver's licence costs €2600 to €3500 here. The bureaucracy and cost of living is starting to outweigh the benefits of living in this otherwise terrific country.
To the person who found my son's ID at the Siegessäule in Berlin and took the time to mail it back to us, you did more than save us a few bucks and hassle. You showed a teenager that there are more good people in the world than bad.
