"Why is it important that breast cancer research include more Black women? Why have these patients been so understudied?" @Nikhilwagle answers this and talks about his new research focused on #MBC in Black women in this @BCRFcure blog.
We recently spoke with @Nikhilwagle about his research on metastatic breast cancer in Black women. Read the wide-ranging interview on our blog. bit.ly/3ysj0f7

The Metastatic Breast Cancer Project (MBCproject.org) has now been fully translated into Spanish, including the wesbsite, consent form, & all project materials — part of our ongoing efforts to make all @count_me_in research projects more inclusive & representative
Today, our lab is participating in #StrikeForBlackLives #ShutDownSTEM. We’re pausing usual research activities & meetings - taking the day to listen, learn, & reflect on causes of systemic racism, anti-black bias, & long-standing inequities in research, healthcare & academia.
In addition to listening & learning today, we’re working on concrete & sustained actions we can take in our lab to confront racism & be more inclusive - and we’re committed to this work as long as necessary.

Role of AKT mutations in mediating resistance to endocrine therapy and CDK 4/6i in MBC. Nice work led by Dr. Seth Wander @MGHCancerCenter and collaboration with @Nikhilwagle. Implications for treatment in post CDK 4/6 setting.
