You need to get to know Greta Neubauer. At 32 (!!), she is the leader of Wisconsin Assembly Dems. The new maps put Dem control of the assembly within reach. She's a big part of the Dem rebound in Wisconsin. We discussed all this on the pod. 2/ Listen👇 newrepublic.com/article/1791…

ICYMI: I talked with Brandy Tollefson, the Democratic candidate running in Assembly District 88 in Green Bay/De Pere, a district that was the closest in the state in 2024, decided by less than 250 total votes. Could Tollefson win there in 2026? therecombobulationarea.com/p…

25 minutes after a vote was recorded in his name, Rep. Shannon Zimmerman was sitting on an AI panel in Milwaukee…80 minutes away. Is it teleportation? A body double? Magic? We may never know…but we do know that consistently showing up for votes is an essential part of the job of a representative. Rep. Zimmerman has missed over 225 votes during his time as an assemblyman.

Researching to see if we can find an apartment for the same price reporting shows Bob Donovan might be paying in rent to "live" in his district 🤔

Decisions like this should be up to patients and their doctors - not David Daniels. A near-total abortion ban is opposed by voters and is dangerous for Wisconsin women.
HOT MIC: GOP Wisconsin Assembly candidate David Daniels said he supports a near-total, six-week abortion ban while at the Neenah Farmers Market on June 13. "After six weeks, I don't think it should be allowed."

In a surprise to no one, Dan has his facts wrong. We were not involved in the challenge against Rep. Russell Goodwin, and are currently helping him mount a defense to ensure he gets on the ballot, as we do with all members of the caucus.
EXCLUSIVE: In a highly unusual move that signals open warfare within the Democratic Party, Assembly leaders are challenging their own members’ nomination signatures and trying to keep them off the ballot. heartlandpost.com/assembly-d…

Ugly story unfolding with Robin Vos and Assembly Republicans. 1) Robin Vos blocks postpartum Medicaid expansion for YEARS 2) Greta Neubauer and Assembly Dems go all out to force a vote to pass this bill (and another bill Vos was blocking, on breast cancer screenings) on the last day of the session 3) Republicans *leave the Capitol mid-session* to go to a Jobs First Coalition fundraiser, return to say they'll pass the bill, with swing district representatives trotted out in a press conference to back the bills 4) Jobs First Coalition (run by Robin Vos' wife, Michelle Litjens Vos) puts out ads celebrating the votes from those same swing district Republicans, casting them as bucking party leadership to pass these bills And you wonder why people become cynical about politics...

NEW: After a big-deal retirement for the GOP in the Assembly, new polling sheds more light on the challenging outlook for Republicans in the midterms. I've been saying the Assembly is still Lean R. Now, I think it's a Toss-Up. Let's recombobulate: therecombobulationarea.news/…

It’s clear we have so much more to accomplish. I want to continue to be a leading voice in building universal child care, establishing paid family leave, funding our public schools, cutting costs for working families, and so much more.

Another 4/20 passes without cannabis being fully legalized in Wisconsin. Many Wisconsinites continue to travel to Illinois to legally purchase cannabis products. The Republican-led Legislature has stalled efforts to move Wisconsin forward on legalization yet again. – at South Beloit, IL

Protect Our Water 🌊 For over a year, my colleagues and I have been working to find a compromise to release over $100 million to address PFAS in our state. Today, @govevers put the pen to paper signing into law the bills that would do just that.

I want to take a moment to recognize the countless people who fought for and won postpartum Medicaid expansion in Wisconsin. This win means that women in our state will keep their healthcare for a full year rather than 60 days after giving birth. This win will save lives.

Moms and their families, advocates across the state, and Legislative Democrats fought for postpartum Medicaid expansion for years. This week, Assembly Democrats refused to take no for an answer and effectively stopped legislative business to force a vote on this bill.

A Democratic trifecta is within reach, and people across WI are energized and ready to help flip the Assembly. Our historic fundraising numbers show that voters are fed up with the partisan games from Legislative Republicans and ready for change.
And more fundraising numbers: @WIAssemblyDems says they raised $1.44 million over the second half of '25 and $1.78 million overall for the year. Said it's their highest off-year fundraising numbers ever. See more in today's PM Update.
