Beloit’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration was a ton of fun! Great to see so many familiar faces and community organizations.
Events like this bring people together and let us celebrate the different cultures that make our community special.
Thanks to all who made it happen!

Sully stopped by to check out the new Ho-Chunk Gaming Beloit ahead of its grand opening on October 23!
This has been a long time coming, and it's exciting to see the project coming together here in Beloit. – at Beloit, WI
It was great to be in Evansville for the groundbreaking of CHS’s new $700 million soybean processing facility - a huge investment in Rock County and Wisconsin agriculture! I’m proud of the work that’s gone into project and excited to see the impact it will have on our community!
I was glad to join @CAIRockWalworth for the Project Thrive Breakfast & Panel Discussion last week.
Project Thrive helps people build skills, find opportunities, and work toward long-term economic stability.
It was great to hear directly from participants and employer partners about the impact the program is having in our community.
Programs like this help people build a better future for themselves and their families while strengthening our local workforce.
Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honor the history, culture, and contributions of the Ho-Chunk Nation, whose ancestral land includes the 45th District.
Let’s use today to reflect on that history &show our respect for the people who've shaped this state.

Sully brought his friend Milo over to Bastani Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe! There’s never a bad time for some delicious ice cream.
Next time you're in the mood for a scoop, consider stopping by Bastani. You won't be disappointed! – at Beloit, WI
It was great visiting Arndt Farms for a presentation from UW-Extension and a discussion with area farmers.
Hearing directly from farmers about the practices they’re using and the challenges they’re facing helps legislators better understand...
Big Hill Park is one of Sully's favorite parks.
Happy 100th Anniversary to Sully approved Big Hill Park!
.@senspreitzer and I were glad to join the Beloit Area Taskforce on Homelessness for their meeting.
We had a great conversation about the challenges facing people experiencing homelessness, incl. access to mental health services, affordable housing, and how government can help.
#SullySunday took us to Norma’s Place in the Shopko Plaza in Beloit this week!
Sully didn’t get to try the Jamaican food, but he was happy to come along and check out another spot.
Beloit has so many great restaurants for Sully to explore!
It was great celebrating Pastor Hoskins and 37 years of faithful service to Fountain of Life Church.
I was there with @senspreitzer, our Chief of Police, other community leaders, and members of the congregation to recognize Pastor Hoskins and the impact he has had on Beloit.
On this day in 1859, Abraham Lincoln was in Beloit.
Lincoln came to town after speaking at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee the day before.
His speech was originally supposed to be outside, but Wisconsin weather had other plans and pushed the event indoors.
It’s pretty amazing that 167 years ago, Lincoln was standing in downtown Beloit talking about slavery and other issues facing our country at the time. A little over a year later, he would go on to be elected President.
Danielle and I went to Black Dollar Days at New Zion Baptist Church, hosted by the Concerned Black Citizens of Beloit.
Events like this remind me how lucky we are to have so many great entrepreneurs, service providers, and organizations in our community.
We got to see people like Dannie Evans, owner of Bastani Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe, who was giving out free scoops of ice cream, and Yusuf Adama, who has published several comic books.
