Suicide is preventable. Every life is worth saving & can be saved if we change the narrative on suicide.
Let us restrict access to the means of suicide; improve reporting by the media;
build life skills & resilience among adolescents; & identify, treat & follow up people @ risk

Every aid worker who is killed leaves behind family, friends, coworkers, and communities who are deeply affected by their loss. When aid workers are attacked, it becomes harder to provide food, medicine, and other life-saving help to people who need it.
Attacks on humanitarian personnel undermine life-saving assistance and violate international humanitarian law. The priority now is action: respecting the rules of war, ensuring aid can safely reach people in need and holding those responsible for attacks to account.
On #WorldHumanitarianDay, WHO calls for the protection of aid workers and health workers and allowing them to reach the civilians who depend on them.
Time to #ActForHumanity.

The Eastern Mediterranean accounts for less than 10% of the global population, but nearly half of the world’s humanitarian burden.
This means one in every two people affected by humanitarian crises is in this Region.
More than half of the US$1.12 billion @WHO requires for emergency operations globally in 2026 is needed in the Eastern Mediterranean. Yet 40% of this funding is still missing.
For millions, this isn’t a budget gap; it’s a matter of life and death.
For too many people, we are already too late.
