๐ญ Safe care means protecting everyone from preventable harm.
Many people in Lebanon use more than one tobacco product, including cigarettes and arguileh. At the same time, exposure to second-hand smoke remains high, whether at home and in public spaces.

#Tobacco remains one of the most urgent and preventable threats to health in Lebanon. According to the WHO STEPS 2024 survey, 52.1% of adults smoke, among the highest smoking prevalence rates globally.
Smoking often starts young and can continue for decades, increasing the risk of serious #NCDs. Preventing tobacco use, supporting people to quit and reducing exposure to tobacco are essential steps towards safer, healthier lives. World Patient Safety Day 2026: Safe care for life!

What do these numbers mean to you? Many adults in Lebanon are exposed to risk factors such as unhealthy diets, physical inactivity and overweight, increasing their risk of NCDs.
Know your risks. Take action early. Make healthier choices. Prevention is an essential part of safe care, today and throughout life.
