Just want to give a s/o to Bears O-line coach Dan Roushar.
O-line stats in 314 snaps so far
-7 total penalites (2% of snaps)
-1 sack (.003% of snaps)
-3 QBH (.009% of snap)
-31 pressures (9% of snaps)
He has been critical on Ben Johnson's staff. What a hire

Ben Johnson bring Jonah Jackson to the Bears isn’t talked about enough. He is the best Guard in the NFL thru 4 games.
He’s moving people in the run game and a brick wall in the pass game. He has allowed 0 sacks and 0 QB hits. He’s graded. As the 2nd best qualified OG via PFF.
The Bears got him for a 6th round pick (number 202) which turned into TE Gavin Bartholomew who’s played 4 games and made 1 catch for 4 yards.
Jackson is 29 years old and hasn’t missed a snap due to injury for the Bears. #Bears #DaBears

Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his hamstring Sunday, tests confirmed today — and the team isn’t even ruling him out for next Monday’s game against the Eagles, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.
A massive sigh of relief in Chicago.
GREAT NEWS: Per @TomPelissero, Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury and is not ruled out for MNF vs. The Eagles.
Huge relief.
I will say this, if he's not 100%, don't rush him back. Rather him miss 1 game than more.

Mike Florio says it’s possible Caleb Williams has a Grade 1 hamstring strain.
I’m not a doctor, but this injury only takes a few weeks to recover from. Would be a massive break for the #Bears, all things considered.

“If you have any problem with him taking a cart to the locker room or the amount of pain he was in in that moment, then it is because you have a personal problem with Caleb Williams, which is really your problem.”
@AdamHoge & @adamjahns react to the ridiculous Caleb criticism:

Just rewatched the Bears vs Vikings game and holy shit the Vikings should’ve lost this game so many times over but we just shot ourselves in the foot at every turn possible:
1. Caleb throw to Raymond that lands at the 1 yd line instead of a TD
2. Which is followed up by Swift fumbling at the GL (this is why Ben needs to put in Monangai or RoJo in these situations)
3. Perfect play call and potential TD is ruined by Sam Roush dropping his pass (had drop issues in college too).
4. Bears go for it on 4th down instead of taking the FG and get it, but it’s immediately followed up by Caleb’s injury.
5. Bears finally take the FG but it’s blocked due to another high snap and Roush missed blocking assignment.
6. Will Reichard’s FG hit the uprights and bounces in to make the score 9-3
7. Tyson Bagent drives us down the field to give us hope but then Ben Johnson decides to have our best receiver block their best edge rusher 1 on 1 on the most important play of the game and it results in exactly what you would expect: a sack by Dallas Turner and game over.
Moral of the story here: This game sucked but at the end of the day, the Vikings played in the exact same elements with a backup QB and we couldn’t get it done. One of the worst Bears weeks in recent memory. We move on.

It’s worth noting that Caleb also suffered a hamstring injury at USC.
He played in the Cotton Bowl one month later, throwing for 462 yards and 5 TDs

IF Caleb Williams injury isn't season ending and he returns at some point, it's so brutal that Chicago didn't win this game to get to 2-0.
D'Andre Swift goal line fumble cost the Bears 7 points.
Chip shot field goal block cost the Bears 3 points.
End of first half penalties cost the Bears 3 points.
Multiple Sam Roush drops and missed block on blocked FG.
4 Garrett Bradbury penalties.
Ben Johnson doesn't call for a spike on final drive, costs Bears about 15 seconds.
End of game drive results in 0 points because you needed a touchdown & ran out of time.
Just a complete and utter team loss. Brutal.

I wanted to dive deeper into this as a PT.
Bears QB Caleb Williams is out after a non contact scramble near the goal line. Film shows him running while looking back over his shoulder, then going down before a defender reaches him. Brad Biggs floated a possible clip from behind. On this clip the collapse looks non contact with trunk rotation while still moving. MSU had him in serious pain, and the pain behavior on film matches that. Cronin had the cart taking him from the injury tent to the locker room. Schefter: Tyson Bagent replaced him. Roster out is not a finished workup. High pain plus a cart is not the same as a mild strain until the exam says so.
For a QB the job is plant, drive through the throw, scramble, reset the feet, and take a hit with the lower chain ready for the next snap. Right lower extremity trouble hits throw torque, plant foot trust, scramble burst, and how willing he is to step up and take contact again.
Path A
Right hamstring strain pattern. Stacey Dales noted him grabbing the right hamstring. Long stride while looking back can load the posterior chain hard. If strength and length come back clean and overnight bark stays quiet, criteria based return can move over days to a few weeks depending on grade. Still out today until they finish the workup.
Path B
Achilles or high grade distal calf concern. Non contact while running and looking back is a classic setup for that tissue. High pain, staying down, cart to the locker, and right foot or lower leg reports keep this on the table. Do not soft pedal it just because we hope for a hamstring. If Achilles, expect imaging, protected load, and a long criteria based runway before any live QB work. Film does not show a clear deformity, so this is a serious differential, not a confirmed rupture from TV.
Path C
Plant ankle or knee irritation from the same look back plant with trunk rotation. Less classic for this scream and cart picture than Path A or B, but still in the mix until the sideline exam and imaging talk.
What the evidence actually is
1. Non contact lower extremity injuries in sprint or scramble athletes are graded by exam and imaging, not by how scary the scream looked alone.
2. Look back trunk rotation while the foot is still driving is a known load for hamstring and for Achilles or calf.
3. Return tracks pain free plant, push off, and progressive speed more than walking the sideline.
4. QB demand means throw plant, scramble cut, and contact readiness have to stay quiet overnight, not just look fine in warmups.
5. High pain plus cart raises the bar. Hope for Path A, prepare for Path B until the team says otherwise.
How I’d actually bring him back
Phase 1: medical clear first. Quiet swelling, protected gait, and whatever imaging they order before any football.
Phase 2: progressive calf and hamstring load, then linear speed, watching next day response.
Phase 3: drop backs, plant and throw, scramble work, then live snaps only if each step stays quiet. Earn throw torque and scramble volume. Do not dump a full game because the designation flipped.
What to watch next
Imaging and tissue language after the game, whether this stays hamstring or shifts into Achilles or calf talk, and how clean plant and push off look when he returns. Hope he is okay.
