Thank you to our loading crew - a group of young adult volunteers that have been putting in about 70 hours a week to do most of the unloading of food coming in and loading of vehicles to send it out to food banks. You are our backbone and we could not do this without you!

While schools were closed, the community at Bemiss Elementary (@spokaneschools) broke ground on their new school rain garden with support from WGS. When students return to school, they’ll have a new outdoor classroom, ready for exploration, right outside their door.

As a Black woman science leader, I have experienced marginalization & othering to last a lifetime. We can stop this. There’s a myth that you can’t do social justice work in some contents, eg. science. My letter to @GSTAnews - 5 steps we can take now - georgiascienceteacher.org/pa…

🗣️Would love to hear from all of you who have used a competency based model for science:
How have the NGSS performance expectations and/or individual CCC, SEP, and DCI elements guided the structure?
Replying to @OfficialNGSS
I am curious....at a competency based school, does NGSS see them as targets?
