Below we show the avg S&P 500 price returns over the past 30yrs based on where the VIX is at. Few things to note:
1. VIX at ~27 is the turning point between generating positive & negative annual returns
2. VIX below 20 is highly favorable for returns & above 30 highly unfavorable
