Please do write in your support of speed reductions when you have a chance over the next few days (Oct 26th deadline), instructions in original tweet, below. #Team30 but at least #Team40.
Speed limits on neighbourhood roads could be changing. On Nov. 2 there will be a public hearing to reduce the unposted speed limit in neighbourhoods to 40 km/h. Calgarians can put forth a written submission about this prosed bylaw until noon on Oct. 26: calgary.ca/publicsubmissions

Looking forward to @DonBraid’s next column on why cars are popular “but risky” and how #yyccc should finally fund its pedestrian strategy to make roads less dangerous for vulnerable pedestrians. #yyc #VisionZero @VisionZeroYYC calgaryherald.com/news/local…

20mph limits are not just about protecting children you can see, but the ones you don't see. The parent you don't see refusing their child's wish to walk their streets, or the elderly fearful of traffic speed on their walk to the shops. Its why #20splenty where people are!

‘Why Walkabillity is good for the economy’ We will be working to make Lonsdale the ‘best high street in Canada’ and ‘implementing positive change that gets people to drive their car less’ It’s better for the economy, their health, and the environment. vox.com/the-goods/2018/10/26…

I have no objection to using the cameras as long as the money earned is used to fix design issues that lead to violations. Otherwise the ‘cash cow’ claim is completely legitimate.

This needed to be done years ago. Now we’re playing catch-up, and people’s lives are being shattered xitter.cf/visionzeroyyc/status/1…

This is devastating. I don't walk or bike as often as I wish I could because my neighbourhood is designed just like Acadia. Being active in it is often impossible, usually terrifying. We can do better. We have to do better. xitter.cf/DaleCalkins/status/999…

Oh my god the fatal crash at Acadia Drive & 97th Ave SE looks horrific. Two people hit. One dead, one in critical. It's cropped out of this photo but there is a body lying on the road just out of frame on the right. (Photo: Mike Symington / CBC) #yyctraffic #yycwalk

It just keeps happening. Acadia deserves multi-million dollar upgrade to reduce traffic speeds. We mocked it up two years ago and it worked - meanwhile $$ flow to more interchanges & photo radar fines to more enforcement. #Ridiculous xitter.cf/cbcfletch/status/99900…

Replying to @estolte @doniveson
I am disappointed about delay for another year, but understand the need to have a passing vote when it does come again. Lowering to 30 km/hr is what Edmonton needs to do to make us a City for all ages and all abilities. Here’s to getting it right in 2019.
Even this appalling pace aside, maybe it's not the crosswalks themselves so much as the design and speed limits of the roads they cross. 🤔🤔🤔 #yeg #VisionZero @VisionZeroCA xitter.cf/estolte/status/9895882…
Guess how many crosswalks are classified as dangerous/needing upgrades? 659! Of those, 70 will be finished by the end of 2019. The rest will cost $58 million to upgrade and take 29 years at Edmonton's currently budgeted $2 million/year. #yegcc #yegtraffic #visionzero

We need your help, #yycbike! To support our conversations with the City about snow, ice, and gravel control, we could really use your photos. Please submit them to connect@bikecalgary.org and be sure to note when and where you took them. More details at bikecalgary.org/snow-ice-and…
