Attacked by this stray dog at DLF Golf Course in Gurgaon yesterday. The most expensive real estate in India, flats here cost 100 crore. There is literally nowhere left in the country where you can be safe from stray dogs. Obviously, lack of resources isn't the problem.

While we are at it, tell me why should stray dog feeders, activists & NGOs that lobby for them, not be booked for 40 lakh dog bite incidents that happen in India every year? Why do these journalists not demand the same when human life is lost to dog attacks.

BITS PILANI, HYDERABAD: COMMUNITY DOGS REMOVED FOR NO REASON. Students allege that 10–15 innocent campus dogs were captured and taken to a GHMC/ABC shelter in September. Despite appeals for their return, reports suggest the dogs may not be brought back. Where are these dogs? Why are they being denied their return? We demand answers and immediate action if this is true. @GHMCOnline @bitspilaniindia @BITSPilaniGoa @bitsalumni @bitshyderabad #Hyderabad #SaveIndianDogs #AnimalCruelty #India

This country is doomed. Government thinks few leopards are a problem not millions of feral dogs roaming everywhere
Two female leopards in Maharashtra have been given a contraceptive vaccine and released back into the wild, in a trial that aims to ease conflict with people without killing or removing any animals. The Junnar forest division in Pune district is running the study, and the vaccine makes an animal temporarily infertile, so the effect is reversible. Between 2000 and 2025, leopard attacks killed 56 people in that division, according to Down To Earth, which is why this pilot is being watched so closely. Maneka Gandhi's reported removal from CPCSEA is the real reason behind all this hue and cry, not love for animals! The rest are just following the herd like goats. 😂🤦
DRAFT RULES ON ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION, 2026, MUST BE WITHDRAWN! Our dogs, our cats, our cows, our monkeys and every other animal we share our country with are not disposable. They are not objects to be experimented on without proper safeguards. They are living beings who feel pain, fear and suffering, and they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The Draft Rules on Animal Experimentation, 2026, threaten to weaken the safeguards meant to protect them. Animals could be sourced from open markets and unregistered establishments, while institutions could approve their own experiments through internal committees. Who will protect these animals if the safeguards meant to protect them are weakened? We cannot allow this to go unchallenged. 📩 Write to the Member Secretary, CCSEA @Dept_of_AHD , at [email protected] Demand the withdrawal of the Draft Rules on Animal Experimentation, 2026. Make your objection heard, and urge others to do the same. India must move towards humane scientific research and alternatives to animal experimentation, not weaken the protection animals deserve. THESE DRAFT RULES MUST BE WITHDRAWN. #AnimalsMatter #WithdrawAnimalExperimentationRules2026 #SaveAnimals #SaveIndianAnimals #Pawsasia Email ID To: [email protected] Dear Member Secretary, I am writing to register my strong objection to the proposed Draft Rules on Animal Experimentation, 2026, and to urge their immediate withdrawal. India has a moral and legal responsibility to protect animals from unnecessary pain, suffering and exploitation. Any revision to the existing regulatory framework must strengthen animal welfare safeguards, not dilute them. The reported provisions permitting animals to be sourced from open markets and unregistered establishments, along with greater reliance on internal institutional committees for approving experiments, raise serious concerns about transparency, independent oversight and accountability. Animals are sentient beings, not expendable resources for scientific advancement. Research must be guided by ethical responsibility, stringent independent scrutiny and a commitment to developing and adopting scientifically validated alternatives to animal experimentation. I therefore urge the CCSEA and the concerned Ministry to withdraw the proposed Draft Rules, undertake meaningful consultations with animal welfare organisations and independent experts, and introduce a framework that places animal welfare and ethical scientific progress at its core. Scientific advancement and compassion are not mutually exclusive. India should aspire to lead in both. I request that this objection be formally recorded and considered before any further action is taken on the proposed Rules. Yours sincerely, Adv Punita Jha

I hope whoever gets to sit on important positions in the new FCRA regime, they very strictly monitor the foreign-funding of so called animal-welfare NGOs. Total scams with vested interests. As dangerous as missionary ones, but most people are not aware of the threat they pose.

#LokmatNews #PimpriChinchwad #bhosari #straydogs #punawale

Rabies Awareness: 14-Year-Old Boy Dies After Dog Bite | Baghpat, UP 💔 💔 A child wants to drink water, but his body will not let him. This heartbreaking sight reminds us how devastating rabies can be when timely treatment is missed. A 14-year-old boy in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly died after being bitten on the head by a stray dog. According to news reports, he did not receive the necessary anti-rabies treatment after the bite. Weeks later, he developed severe symptoms, including hydrophobia, a condition associated with rabies that can cause difficulty swallowing and painful spasms when attempting to drink water. Tragically, his life could not be saved. Behind this heartbreaking incident is a life-saving message for every family: NEVER IGNORE A DOG BITE. 🚨 WHAT EVERYONE MUST KNOW ABOUT RABIES ✅ Immediately wash any bite or scratch thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes. ✅ Seek medical attention immediately, even if the wound looks small or heals quickly. ✅ Take the prescribed anti-rabies vaccinations. Rabies immunoglobulin may also be necessary for certain severe exposures. ✅ Never rely on home remedies or wait for symptoms to appear. ⚠️ Once clinical symptoms develop, rabies is almost always fatal. However, prompt and appropriate treatment after exposure can prevent the disease. Parents, please teach your children to report every dog bite or scratch immediately. No child should hide an injury out of fear of being scolded. One bite. One missed chance for prevention. One family’s heartbreaking loss. Please SHARE this message. Your share could help save another child's life. 📍 Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, India Brahmins TV – Unbowed. Unafraid. #RabiesAwareness #DogBite #RabiesPrevention #HealthAwareness #BrahminsTV

Clear the stray dogs from beaches. Its not optional and there's no changing an sc order. If you don't you will be held in contempt. Stray dog ngos are not stakeholders either.
Goa has the highest coverage of stray dog sterilization in India (>70%) Yet it has the highest per capita incidents of bites. That proves the AbC rules make make the stray dog menace worse. @LekhakAnurag @abi_vanak #straydogfreeindia @anyadoc @RGVzoomin @BalambalMurali @boogerworm @India_NHRC @thil_sek @americai @AlexDimpy @indSupremeCourt

Passengers (particularly children, elderly & disabled) shud be able to enter & exit the airport without being terrorised, chased & bitten by stray dogs. @DelhiAirport has still not removed stray dogs from pick-up areas. Imposing new restrictions on vehicles increases the risk.
In light of recent incidents involving aggressive interactions between stray dogs and passengers and staff, we acknowledge the concern this may cause. Please be assured that passenger safety remains our highest priority. 1/4

Wonderful decision by Goa. This is how we should deal with homeless dog all over India. No country has ever controlled dog population via sterlization alone. Adoption, sterlization, sheltering everything should go together.
The Goa Tourism Department has given citizens, animal welfare groups and dog lovers seven days to adopt stray dogs found along the state’s beaches, after which the remaining dogs will be captured and relocated to authorised animal shelters. . . #Goa #GoaNews #TourismDepartment #Dogs

The comments to this post are worth noting. Ppl hv mentioned a lot of add'l issues, but hardly anyone has said that stray dogs or dog vigilantism is an issue. Perhaps the "dog lovers" are right after all. If noone thinks something is an issue, then why shud govt try to solve it?
If anyone conducts a public survey, they will know that the real issues affecting people are: > UGC regulations > Reservation reforms > Misuse of SC/ST Act > Ethanol blending > Food adulteration > Pollution, infra, etc. Everything else is just meaningless noise!

These people have blood on their hands. Blood of small kids and elderlies, who are attacked and mauled by stray dogs. ABC is also inhumane to animals as they leave dogs mutilated. It has been a failure and we have 25 yrs proof that ABC doesnt work.
Students and animal welfare activists on Saturday requested Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to strengthen the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme and expand anti-rabies vaccination instead of using animal pounds under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) for the permanent confinement of community dogs. thehindu.com/news/cities/ban…

The process itself is the punishment. Reality is that dog bite victims have no power or lobby unlike stray dog mafia. If HC was serious, they wud hv pulled up Chief Secy by now & asked to explain when there are 20,000+ recorded cases, why noone has been given compensation.
A street dog bit him once. The system has been biting him every day since. He applied for compensation, but has been left running from counter to counter--- despite mandated by High court
