Bye Twitter ๐๐ป I've not been around much here in recent years as it's gone progressively downhill and got more and more hateful. I enjoyed my time here for the first few years, when I found community and warmth and shared passions. But now Elon has gone full mask off, I'm out.

The World AIDS day vigil will be held today (December 1st) from 6pm-7pm at the AIDS Memorial statue on New Steine in Brighton. Our helpline is running Tuesday-Thursday 7pm-9.30pm if you'd like to talk about this topic, or anything else.
ALT White text over a black background reads: "World AIDS day. 1st December. Today, we remember and honour the millions of people lost to AIDS, many of whom are from our community. We are grateful that people can now live well with HIV, and give thanks to those who push for change in the face of stigma and resistance. We show our solidarity with people living with HIV today, and celebrate the strength and diversity of our HIV community.". There is a graphic of the red HIV and AIDS awareness ribbon.

When politicians demonise migrants, the far right listen.
When they say refugees should be โsent back to where they came fromโ, the far right listen.
When they complain about asylum seekers staying in hotels, the far right listen.
Letโs promote a message of unity instead.
One that tackles the issues facing us all: the housing crisis, the collapse of our NHS and the disaster of privatisation.
One that gives hope to all communities that a fairer society is possible.
Stand up to racism. Defend refugees. Inspire belief in a better world. That is how you defeat the far right once and for all.

You destroyed a library. It was MORE than a library, it was a food bank, a source of heat for people in the winter, a place for kids from low income families to use the internet, or do their homework. Why destroy something so vital? Yeah youโre so patriotic guys.

During a live stream, unhinged gender critical cult leader Kellie-Jay Keen, got a call from her GP surgery, that she proceeded to record on to YouTube, without telling the caller.

Hugely disappointed and very confused by @AngelaRayner @UKLabour statement that JK Rowling โsupports trans rightsโ. A quick glance at her X account shows this is as far from the case as could be. Her main source of entertainment seems to be deliberately misgendering trans women
