they care more about a Louis Vuitton being looted than about teenagers losing their hands, eyes and jaw to police brutality, abt people having to skip meals bc the price of everything keeps increasing, abt the lack of hospital beds and teacher in schools, abt the rise of fascism

Getting blown up by a Russian drone to protect my beautiful nation of privatised water companies, boarded up shops, cracked paving, and political-media class who think I’m a racist because I oppose a genocide. No thanks mate.

The tabloids have invented this alternate-universe Britain where you phone the DWP, tell them you’ve got a peanut allergy or a sore finger, and suddenly they’re paying your rent and buying you a free car - and somehow, people believe that’s how it actually works.

Neither Cartier-Bresson, Banksy nor Cold War Steve could have come up with such an image. Absolutely perfect composition and lighting (even the road signs are perfect)! 😍

An underdiscussed part of modern capitalism is how low-wage workers are often micromanaged every minute they’re on the clock, while many high-wage jobs come with hours of unstructured computer time where no one really cares what you’re doing as long as the work gets done.

I really hate the “no person who works a full-time job should live in poverty” discourse. It should simply be that nobody deserves to live in poverty. We have to let go of the idea that we work in exchange for our worth. People are innately worthy and deserving of the basics.

So people earn more than 100k because they work harder? Than who? There are people in this country who literally work themselves into an early grave for a pittance, or kill themselves working two or more jobs, as more than a million people do. Enough with this Tory myth.
“We don’t want you to be punished for working harder” Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch defends her new proposal to scrap the "cliff edge" that means parents in England lose out on childcare support when they earn more than £100,000 a year #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/news/live/c8n5d3k4…

Arguably no other crime in modern times revealed the extent to which international law is a complete farce.

Sending love & support to all the survivors of assault triggered by this horrific Cornell story. I'm so sorry for your pain. You did not and do not deserve any of it.

🔥🔥🔥This is one hell of an essay.🔥🔥🔥 "Here is the problem: not one man in that fraternity reported what was happening to a woman being drugged and raped down the hall. Not one. That is “not all men”—in practice. Male violence does not survive without male silence."
This is an article for men. Women already know this. A few months ago I wrote an article titled “Women are not safe around men” and I got 100s of messages from angry men chewing me out. This week a woman filed a civil suit against 7 men at Cornell University for drugging, trafficking, and raping her. Zero have faced any criminal charges. Men throughout the societal ladder are complicit. Women are not safe around men. And the data is devastating. qasimrashid.com/p/cornell-un…

one of the hardest things about living with sexual trauma is being re-traumatized every time there’s a heavily publicized case in the news. watching people litigate and demonize other victims. makes you wonder what the point of any of it is, if it’s even worth speaking up at all.

Ed Miliband describes the suffering in Gaza as a “stain on the world’s conscience”. He’s right. Now, he must urge Burnham to de-proscribe Palestine Action who’ve taken direct action - NOT terrorism - against the Genocide.

I know we’re all thinking about what happened at Cornell. But I also can’t stop thinking about Emma Sulkowicz and all the other young women forced to carry that weight. Read my column at the newsletter (link in bio) 💜

“Imagine it was your daughter/sister/ friend,” is a call for men to imagine a violation of the women they see themselves to possess; that is, a violation of their property. It does not ask them to understand the horror of rape. The fact is that they rape their daughters too.
Men are being awful about this Cornell r*pe. We shouldn’t have to say imagine if it was your daughter or sister or friend.

Imagine getting so much backlash, it makes the news. I've noticed how news sites often massively downplay his abuse. They always mention Evan, and throw in a vague "and several others cane forward too." No, it's hundreds of people. The harm this man has caused is insane.

I strongly oppose the removal of the pensions triple-lock. More than 2 million pensioners live in poverty. They will be the ones who suffer the most by taking away pension security. We must protect the principle of universalism. That is why we opposed cuts to winter fuel - and that is why we must oppose any means-testing of the state pension. This isn't about old versus young. This is about the super-rich versus the rest. That's why we should be taxing wealth to fund social care for all.

Yeah this really is it. Recoup money from RICH pensioners through tax, but don’t reduce the national pension that has those relying on it already close to poverty!
Explaining to people in their thirties crowing about Labour tearing up the triple lock that they are all young now, but one day they will be old.

It took Palestine Action activists 1 year and 4 months to be granted bail after the Elbit systems raid and these guys supposedly brought three car bombs to blow up a US-operated military base and/or attack a residential area and are out on bail like the next day
