Have you noticed the people who don’t want to help refugees because we “have our own poor” also don’t want to help our own poor?

Students can’t have inhalers for asthma at school without a prescription. To carry said inhalers in their backpacks instead of storing them in the health office requires additional paperwork. So no, Timmy is not coming home as Tammy. I am, however, prepped for a shooter.
I never thought I’d have to explain this about what REALLY happens inside our schools. But what’s even more disturbing is what teachers actually ARE preparing for every single day…

What's more likely to happen to your kid at school: a secret sex change surgery or a shooting? One has never happened. The other happens almost every week. Guess which one Republicans care about?

Not really a blacklist guy but I think if you're a GOPer in federal office and you don't make a peep in response to your party's indisputable leader saying stuff like this, you shouldn't be allowed in politics anymore. Like, find another line of work.

This is your daily reminder that language in children's books is significantly richer than language in our daily conversations with children. If you want your kids to have a large vocabulary going into school, you must read to them.
If I seem grumpy lately it's because I'm reading piles of recent national surveys about why parents don't read to their kids for my dissertation and... Y'all. 😐 "My child prefers screentime." "I find it boring." "It's useless."

Well, this is a bad time to be allergic to doxycycline. 😂
Yes, doxycycline is an effective antibiotic treatment for plague (Yersinia pestis), especially bubonic forms. CDC lists it as first-line for bubonic/pharyngeal plague (200 mg load then 100 mg twice daily) and for prophylaxis. A randomized trial found it comparable to gentamicin. Fluoroquinolones or aminoglycosides are often preferred for severe pneumonic/septicemic cases. Early treatment is critical.

Spare me this nonsense. Yes, the admin is arresting some people who entered unlawfully. But they are also rounding up tens of thousands of people who entered LEGALLY, including some who hadn’t violated a single immigration law until the Trump admin chose to “delegalize” them.
"You chose to come to this country illegally. You chose to break the law. It is our job to hunt you down and send you back. We don’t make the laws at DHS. We simply enforce them." @SecMullinDHS

For years, people treated Trump’s verbal nonsense as entertainment—the endless riffs about low-flow toilets, shark attacks, wind turbines and the late, great Hannibal Lecter. We laughed. We picked it apart. The media turned it into colorful copy, like some bizarre national reality show hosted by a guy with the nuclear codes. But watching Trump seriously claim that you need to be a top-of-the-class MIT graduate to operate a lawnmower—and that he personally freed the American backyard from this imaginary problem—is different. It sure as hell isn’t some clever metaphor for overregulation. Trump is dumb as a box of rocks but his cognitive decline is on full display tonight—and it isn’t a damn bit funny.

San Diego is not collateral damage. We are not expendable. And we are never a "small price to pay." Keep our city out of your reckless war talk.

I feel like the President of The United States suggesting Iran should nuke Los Angeles and San Diego should be getting a little more attention than it is.

I am sick of this absolute nonsense. The demonization of teachers has to stop. I’m over it and you should be too.

As a primary school teacher I am imploring parents to actually have conversations with your kids from an early age. They'll be less frustrated if they can actually articulate what they want and need, and teachers lives would be a bit easier.

Can you imagine being gullible enough to hear, “the principal put my kid on drugs and scheduled surgery,” and think, yes, this sounds plausible? At some point this stops being propaganda and becomes an intelligence test.
