“The neocolonial apparatus is no longer through the state but through monopoly control of land which is then oriented toward export commodities instead of self-subsistence.” — Dr. Max Ajl

In Black Skin, White Masks (1952), Frantz Fanon argues that colonialism does not merely dominate people politically and economically; it penetrates their psychological world, shaping how they see themselves and others. Through racism, language, education, and cultural hierarchy, colonial society presents the colonizer’s identity as superior and the colonized person’s identity as inferior. The colonized may gradually internalise these judgments, seeking recognition by imitating the colonizer’s language, behaviour, and standards of respectability. Fanon shows how oppression can produce alienation from one’s own identity: the colonized person begins to experience themselves through the demeaning gaze of the dominant society.
For Fanon, this psychological injury is not an inherent weakness of the colonized; it is produced by a racist social order. The struggle for liberation must therefore go beyond political independence to challenge the cultural and psychological structures that sustain feelings of inferiority. Decolonisation involves reclaiming the capacity to define oneself rather than measuring one’s humanity against the colonizer’s standards. Colonialism reaches its deepest power when the dominated begin to see themselves through the eyes of those who dominate them.
A lot of this theory explains the situation of people like Kemi Badenoch.
Now Morocco wants a piece of Somalia —Nacalad ba kutaaalo the current political class in the horn.
Somalia and Morocco have agreed to work together to promote Somalia as a tourism destination, train Somali tourism experts and exchange expertise, at a meeting in Rabat between Abdullahi Hayir Duale, Director General of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and Morocco's Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The Moroccan side said it would also support Somalia in developing its coastline, the longest in mainland Africa, and the hotels along it.

Both have failed. The secessionist movement in Hargeisa is a prime example of the failure of one, and the rest of the country is an example of the failure of the other. No country and no society can succeed by building what is supposed to help them thrive around what divides them. Not only is it illogical, but it also reflects a profound conceptual failure —the inability to conceive of a political community beyond the particularisms that constitute it.

You are missing crucial information about the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES): it maintains an official office in Israel. FES is closely affiliated with the Social Democratic Party (SPD), which is fundamentally a pro-Israel party and has a core commitment to Israel's security.

In the #HOA and #RedSea, UAE patronage networks are the main channel through which Israel gains access and friendly relations. These 3 competing security orders (the diamond, the hexagon, and the axis) now have footholds or influence around Bab el-Mandeb, and their rivalry has started playing out in the countries along this narrow strait. And Somalia, the most exposed country in this contested corridor, will bear the brunt of the impact and bloodshed.
