State of Disability in Uganda🇺🇬
According to the 2024 Census estimated that approximately 13.2% of Uganda’s population (5.5 million) live with a disability. This is consistent with 2022 national estimates of about 14%, with slightly higher rates among women. Functional-difficulty surveys from 2022–2024 show a higher picture: 32–33% of adults report at least one difficulty, mostly seeing (19–20%), mobility (13–14%), and cognition (13%). Rates are higher in urban poor communities.
As for the campaign #LeaveNoOneBehind #KDFest26 responds to this gap by creating a space for empowerment, engagement, and economic connection for young people with disabilities and those affected by disability-Patrick Wasajja team leader KDF

In the *1995 Constitution of Uganda (as amended)*, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) are protected in both the *National Objectives and Directive Principles* and the *Bill of Rights (Chapter 4)*.

Are you doing something to eliminate discrimination against PWDs?
As it's written "You were created in my image, says the Lord".

Note that Policymakers provide the *framework*, beneficiaries provide the *direction and validation*. Let's embrance what's written by law.
