🚨 Mercedes reportedly KNEW George Russell’s engine was being pushed to its limit.
The power unit that failed in Malaysia had been in use since Hungary and Mercedes deliberately kept it running as part of a long-term reliability test for its 2027 development.
The downside? Russell has effectively paid the price.

▫️ Out of all the tracks Schumacher raced more than once, Singapore was the only place where he never scored points
▫️ At his final Singapore GP, Schumacher crashed into a car with Red Bull branding driven by VER (Jean-Eric Vergne)
▫️ The crash was so powerful that the curse passed on to VER
▫️ Max eventually adopts the VER abbreviation
▫️ And out of all the tracks on the current calendar where Max has raced more than once, Singapore is still the only place he's never won
▫️ Schumacher wasn't able to break the curse, so he passed it on, hoping that one day VER could do it
