I've pretty much said #goodbyeX - feel free to follow me on the app with cloudless skies - VeerOffTrack - still likely to post on issues affecting #academia #marketing #photography and life in #NZ here's a dump of my fave pics from 2024
Mānawatia a Matariki! Happy #Matariki to all around the motu - a time to celebrate a new year in the Māori calendar - a colleague in the northern hemisphere took this image of the star cluster that signals the new year and I took the opportunity to edit it. Enjoy!
Ka rawe to Drs. Gath and Hurley - this year's joint Emerging Research Fellows from CMRF receiving $220,000 towards their research @UCNZ @UCCWRI @otago @OtagoCHCH @1NewsNZ @PressNewsroom @NZStuff

Sick of #aurora photos yet? Yeah, me too - but here are some from my night out, anyway - hope you enjoy! @Christchurch_NZ @ChristchurchCC @UCNZ
I scored 16/20 on MIST-20, better than 62% of the US population. Cool research co-authored from @ucnz researcher Dr Claudia Schneider from @ucnzscience

Packed room to hear from Dr @UsmanAfzali about his work leading the Muslim Diversity Study in NZ @UCNZ @UCNZscience
Always a privilege and honour to hear @DrStacyWood present - hard act to follow here at @univtennessee marketing department! @UCNZ @NCState
Loving the kotahitanga against #JohnFromRangiora @Hilary_Barry @LauraTupou @1NewsNZ @NewshubNZ
And just in case you're listening, John...kotahitanga means unity/solidarity/working together
Back in the chair after nearly 25 years. Donation ban lifted on British Donors. I'm eating all the snacks!!!
This is the best news ever! I've waited over 20 years to donate again, and now booked in to donate plasma at @NZBlood the morning I'm eligible. Don't know if I'll be the first, but hope I won't be the last - book in now, Brits! @NZStuff @1NewsNZ @Christchurch_NZ
IC2944 The Running Chicken Nebula taken from my back garden last night - a violently beautiful star birthing area of our universe. @zwoasi 533MC Pro camera on a Redcat51 scope with @iOptronCorp mount. About 4 hours of light data @apod @NASA #astrophotography
Never forget, we're the ones spinning, not the sky! Taken from Lake Heron, Hakatere Conservation area, where I spent the night on Tuesday #astronomy #astrophotography @apod
Anyone else finding that the @FlyAirNZ online booking system is down? I would like to give you money, please...cannot book anything
I've pre-registered to donate blood/plasma again now that @NZBlood are reviewing their ban on those of us who lived in the UK during the 80s - you can do it, too!
Looking forward to getting in the chair again soon #madcow

Is there a more perfect combination than a person with a camera thinking they're a creative genius and a derivative picture of an overdone scene? I think not! Anyway, here's my pic of #ThatWanakaTree from last week
